Rarely shuts up about sustainable energy. (Also likes TTRPGs, art, history, weird science, own voice; anti-AI) Chris Wright, Sec of Energy, says those things because he has $60 million of his money in his fossil company. Nazi Punks Fuck Off. he/him

While we discuss with colleagues in academia about the ethics of using AI, trying to choose the right tone in order to avoid shattering what little remains of their spine with statements a bit too strongly worded, this is what they’re actually contributing to in the real world.

Anyway now that we know who the nasty freaks behind the dem spam texts are I think we should find all their personal and professional contact information and sign them up for five million spam lists because what i actually want to do to them is illegal data4democracy.substack.com/p/the-mother...

1. I am very tired of being asked to be stupid. I know that is not the most important thing right now. There are many more serious consequences to electing a criminal president who is burning up the economy.

In 1990, about 20 million animals a year were euthanized in kill shelters. Today, over half the shelters in the US are designated no-kill and less than 500,000 animals are euthanized.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

[1] I can't believe I'm footnoting this. Nazi salute, Tesla factory racism, eugenics, etc. [2] None of his children talk to him, &c. [3] Angela Chao slowly drowned in a bulletproof Tesla with autolocked doors. He made no changes to the design. [4-∞] where do I start?

This is great. Protest songs are not immune to Sturgeon's Law* but this is in the other 10%. * "You should like it, you agree with it" is a flaw in Christian music, protest music, etc.

Dear DOJ, this applies to you, too. Elections are the states' responsibility, especially since you gutted the voting rights act. Feds out of Alaska elections.

Airbnb bought the couchsurfing website. There's an alternative one called BeWelcome and we sometimes host, but every time we've hosted young women they've told us a horror story about a sex pest host. (Why Women Choose The Bear, part ♾️)

I kick Elon a lot, but not nearly enough. For TSLA to be fairly valued it would have to be something between 10 and 30 times its current size. Ford, GM, and Honda combined aren't 10 times the size of TSLA. His stock prices run on BS and "nobody wants to be first out the door." Also, nazi.

HEY I'M PORTER SQUARE OFFICIAL (OMG thank you folks for reading and reviewing! 🤩)

I'm really far from being a movie expert but ... much to think on.

Movies Silently@moviessilently.bsky.social

I was thinking about the response of DW Griffith fans vs Fritz Lang fans to debunking. When I debunk a Griffith first, I get waves of people trying to move the goal posts so they can still claim firsties. I debunked Lang having the first movie dragon and the response was “Cool!”

Wow, that is burying the lede and then pouring concrete over it.

Every article has the same premise: Young people are characterizing their normal, happy childhoods as abusive and going "no contact" with their parents over minor disagreements. Every article also, late in the text, blithely acknowledges that this premise is false. www.nytimes.com/2024/07/14/h...

You know those That Never Happened stories where "everyone claps" or "the evil man walks out ashamed?" Abdul El-Sayed actually managed to produce that result. [Also, never start a fight with the guy with the mic.]

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

I honestly don’t know much about El-Sayed, but this is a perfect answer from him. It’s also hilarious that Tommy used to work for Josh Hawley and was paid 250k for influencer marketing AGAINST El-Sayed. They might want to get a refund. What a spectacular backfire. The walk of shame at the end. 🤣

M. Night Shyamalan's YouTube channel (which is something he has now) came out of nowhere with this great line.

Elon is likely introducing his new flying tesla right now to distract people from the fact he urged trump to throttle Starlink/StarShield in Ukraine from the White House so he could blame trump.

I know it's beating a dead horse but can you imagine how this story would be framed if Biden were president? "President's personal lawyer accuses man appointed to personal takeover of Kennedy Center and overseeing theft of Venezuelan oil of stealing $17.6 million; President personally involved"

nytimes.comA Bitter White House Feud, Even by Trump-Era Standards: Alina Mildon and Richard GrenellTwo Trump allies — Alina Habba Mildon and Richard Grenell — are locked in a raging dispute that has its roots in the battle for a share of the spoils in Venezuela.

Stephen Miller is saying personal things about Talarico's manliness. My first, wrong, instinct is to say "he's spinning 'started losing his hair in junior high' " or something. I need to focus on what an evil fuckup Miller is, how he built concentration camps and kept medicine from children.
