Counterpoint: CEOs should look at their companies as if they needed to provide a service for every citizen, constantly renew their social licence to operate, and plan for the long term wellbeing of the whole country. www.ft.com/content/8255...

Here's an idea for editors, let's do a little roleplay. Writer: "I have a contrarian take!" Editor: "Is it fucking stupid?" Writer: "Well yes, but it bucks the consensus. No one else is saying it." Editor: "Is that because the consensus is correct?" Writer: "... yes but... " <hang up>
"electrified" her omfattar dessverre hybridbilar, som jo ikkje er el-bilar. Faktiske el-bilar er på 22% - som òg er bra.
In TT#18, we review sales figures in Europe and find electrified cars took a 69% market share for the first 9 months of 2026, while sales of oil-burners crashed to 28%. Electric trucks are hitting double-digits and even V2G is finally getting the green light. www.transitiontimes.net/tt-18-evs-ar...

The Bolsonarists didn't change their minds, they didn't suddenly stop believing that their man could do no wrong and that Lula was an existential threat to Brazil. They were simply outvoted by those who refused to risk a return to fascism, and decided not to sit this election out.

But more to the point I think the ease with which that can be explained is an indictment of this kind of piece - which The Atlantic loves - staring in incomprehension at the easily comprehensible and then trying to make some broader cultural point about it. Instead of just talking to people.

Once again, British courts being used as a tool of Russian oligarchs to attack press freedom around the world. "Even though Fiskeribladet’s story was only published in Norwegian language, Orlov’s lawyers argued that the court case should be heard in England". I wonder why? 🤔
Attempts by Russian actors to stop the Barents Observer take many different forms. This in no way diminishes our determination to strengthen free and independent journalism in the Norwegian-Russian border region here in the north.
Fix your #libellaw, Brits! bsky.app/profile/dann...
Edward Lucas is dead right. If Epstein had been British he’d never have been exposed. Our libel law is an ongoing disgrace. www.thetimes.com/article/1786...

Russiske aktørers forsøk på å stoppe Barents Observer kommer i mange ulike varianter. Dette svekker på ingen måte vår motivasjon til å styrke fri og uavhengig journalistikk i det norsk-russiske grenselandet her i nord.

Fascinating account showing how a false claim can become widely accepted (and propagated by multiple independent sources) as a result of a common academic shortcut: citing a source you haven't actually read after seeing it cited by another source: journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10....

For all this talk of Russian bots being defeated by the Yandex strikes I'm still getting the usual Matryoshka emails with the same fake news posts and purchased bot engagement. Seems more like wishful thinking based on misinterpreted data than reality.
