Today I was discussing Executive Dysfunction with some folks, and how in our household we call it "The Sits" I decided to make an info poster. It's based on my personal experience with it. Yes, the person is me 😆 #neurodivergent #memes #executivedysfunction

Damn Colbert is a treasure. He very knowingly and intentionally played Linus and Lucy on the air, and the copyright holder joyfully got a fine out of CBS for it and then donated it to World Central kitchen. www.rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv...

I was told for two years straight that putting demos in your pipeline was an unreasonable and infeasible practice yet every game I'm interested in for these announcements has a demo. interesting!

For the good of the entire open source community and all open source contributors, these people need to be sued into the ground

Thoth@thoth.ptnote.dev

> we decided that the codebase is not a derivative work that would require carrying forward the GPL license and have decided to release the code under the MIT instead. oh someone wants to get sued.

Final Fantasy VII and Silent Hill 2 are the two most overrated games of all time, and despite them being good games, neither is the best entry in its series and neither warrants the absurd praise it's gotten over the decades.

Feel as though people will truly never understand his death. He was killed for being an Indigenous Queer Man with a Transgender Partner. Every single one of those signifiers on axis/intersections/marginalizations is extremely important, but it is in tandem all at once not just because he “Gay”.

We lost Jonathan Joss exactly One Year ago today. A neighbor burned his house, killed his dogs and shot him in the street for being Gay. Never forget Jonathan Joss. #KingOfTheHill #JohnRedcorn

I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses

There's this rule in Swords Without Master that is kind of a big deal, because it breaks traditional GMing advice.† It's why I'm skeptical about #ttrpg aphorisms and give the side-eye to most anything purporting to be a universally good GMing tip.

There is something brutally psychically injurious to being constantly told "just do good work and you'll be successful" while watching people who do the most dogshit work possible do all the succeeding.

I desperately need to mute the phrase "during Covid." Or even worse, "back during Covid." It's still out there making people seriously ill, so I guess you mean back in those long ago days of .... RIGHT FUCKING NOW?

You know, have you actually read #iHunt or the companion RPG? I realize a lot of my Bluesky followers don't know me from that. You really should. We're doing so much with it. Right now, we're shopping both TV and film projects and we're in talks with some REALLY cool people about it.

Olivia Hill@machineiv.bsky.social

A BOOK? I have a whole ass series of those, and a tabletop RPG based on it. It's gig economy monster hunting. Buffy meets Uber. Blade meets Fiverr. It's a world where eviction is scarier than Dracula.

When I want to get nerds especially wound up I make the point that all science fiction is actually fantasy. And then to wind up everyone else, I point out that all fiction is actually fantasy.

My biggest conspiracy theory is that telling working class people that engagement in the arts is a middle / upper class thing and to do so makes you a class traitor is a psyop to make them disengaged with themselves and the world and the beauty of being human, so that they accept worse treatment.

Paul Boldrin@paulboldrin.bsky.social

I read a history of early 20th century socialism and it's crazy how much of it is just clubs doing art or reading books and trying to get miners and factory workers to do art and read books.

Python Tip #111 (of 365): Don't use the __class__ attribute. 🧵 To get the name of any object's class, you can use: type(my_obj).__name__ You might occasionally see this instead: my_obj.__class__.__name__ I don't recommend that approach. #Python #DailyPythonTip

an underrated game dev skill IMO is being able to realize “this person and I have been discussing (thing) for months, and yet i think we have slightly different versions of (thing) in our heads. let’s get together and talk about that in excruciating detail”
