This should be a huge story:

I know there’s a lot going, but 19 Republican AGs have said—in writing!—that pro-choice speech should be criminalized. Thats a Big Fucking Deal and it blows my mind that more people aren’t talking about it

In this age of media illiteracy, modern films should adopt the early 90s movie trend of having an end credits rap song that explains the premise.

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

Beyond disgusted by even more rape allegations against the President of the United States. "In total, more than 25 different women...have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct." Report w/ new details: democrats-judiciary.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. “Digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro.

None of us should forget this. Meta should be subjected to corporate death penalty and permanently broken up into small pieces.

Fellow WA voters, let's bury this. I can't imagine any parent wants to subject their child to this vile "examination."

Doctors and nurses are voicing their objections. I-638 would require EVERY girl who wants to participate in sports to go through biological sex verification. That means expensive, invasive, and utterly gross examinations. Protect our kids and let them play. Vote NO on I-638

Lately I've noticed the AI generated slopware being sent to me has gone from special pleading about how they're just small little devs to full on Sephiroth posting in the AI Generated Content Disclosure sections, and it's an incredible evolution in slopware purveyors. (The below is just an example)

NEW: New Mexico AG, @nmdoj.bsky.social, just announces that a judge has issued a judgment in the amount of $25 BILLION against Meta for lying to consumers and users about how Meta collected, protected, shared, and used their personal information.

while that's artistically interesting i find it irresponsible to even entertain the idea that holmes is not doing this all on purpose. as carreyou has been pointing out, she came at the two whistleblowers with everything she had. i do kind of wish fielding had talked to them on camera.

Excellent write up on cost/benefit for artists at increasingly-pricy shows. One of the reasons that I, and so many others, so esteem HeroesCon, is that they curate and comp tables for a LOT of artists, including "new" artists. My first "real" table was at Heroes... www.comicsbeat.com/is-artist-al...

In an operation that costs millions of dollars, a deceptive flyer that is intended to spark moral panic among parents about trans issue was sent out across Texas. Hey, do you know of anyone obsessed with trans people that just dumped a ton of money in Texas? newrepublic.com/post/216856/...

The moral is, if you’re appointed Ambassador to Greece as an unqualified nepo hire, don’t try to do bonus grifts. The grift is being Ambassador to Greece. You are being paid to hang out in Greece for 4 years. Grift accomplished

Collins, it’s really time for you to hang it up. It’s beyond embarrassing at this point.

With all due respect, this is precisely what is wrong with the federal courts today. They should not be doing "everything humanly possible to give the government the benefit of the doubt."

Never forget that David Ellison's Skydance Media was originally created so he could be an actor. Skydance's first film was 'Flyboys' starring James Franco and... David Ellison. David and his daddy invested $60m to make Flyboys. It grossed $17m Here's a bit of David's acting:

if you've followed the Musk story for a while, the movie will likely be missing major storylines/episodes you remember. There's just no way to get it all in! Gibney's genius was recognizing that the women's stories bring so much of the material together, and present the most stark counter-narrative

If this is legal, it needs to be made illegal. There is clearly something broken when clear monopolies are allowed to flourish. The fact that this is inherently a right-wing operation is beside the point, NO company should have this much power over media. This is going to be a bloodbath for workers
