I'm looking forward to the #Aion2 launch - and I can't believe it's been close to twenty years since the original. I'll probably spend the night in character creation, of course. (And the servers are never going to stay up.) Bring on all the nostalgic feels...

It's been a while since I've done serialized fiction...and since I've done an October spooky-season freebie. This year, I'm doing both, with a free long gothic novella for October, e-serialized here: www.kelleyarmstrong.com/ravens-moor/

Artists, show us how you draw black women!

[SENATOR ERIC SCHMITT]: So you’re telling me under oath that you've never played World of Warcraft? [JACK SMITH]: Correct [SCHMITT]: WELL THEN *unveils poster* please explain this picture of you farming gold in Eversong Woods! [SMITH]: That is Elden Ring, sir.

Well, well, well. P. made quite a find on the sidewalk when he was on his way to work this morning. (I've masked and painted the back with PVA as a precaution in case of asbestos, we can strip it later.)

Once again, I had the immense pleasure of painting a character for Liza Grimm. This is Pulta, a strong character who perfectly complements Liza's breathtaking world-building. I highly recommend checking out her marvellous books!

Quote with your Night/Dark Art!

This is why I tell writers not to spend too much time world building

Impressed by the fact that I'm still here against all the odds, but thoroughly disappointed at the lack of success that I expected to have by the time I reached middle age (and you know when I was 20 I would have thought that that was like, 40). So, sorry younger self. It wasn't from lack of effort.

The second cover I painted for "Blood Heir" by author Ilona Andrews, a special edition by Arcane Society, 2023. The Kate Daniels book series is my favorite series. Love that Julie got her own book! ❤️ Grab a print of this one, link to my INPRNT store in my bio. #ilonaandrews #fantasyart #bookcover

Artists, show how you paint stars!

It's been a long time since I treated WoW like a second job, and I never thought I'd play another Blizzard game, but I'm seriously getting nostalgic with the World of Warcraft: Forever announcement. I seriously should not be considering a sub right now, but I am so tempted. :D

Thanks to art director Anh Nguyen, I could be part of the Secret Lair X Global Fund for Women "Their Magic is Limitless", and proudly illustrate "Lathril, Blade of the Elves" . 50% of the product price will be donated to Global Fund for Women. #mtg

Hey artists, share something! <3 have the full painting of my profile pic, which was painted long ago and i am quite embarrassed about sharing 🧜‍♀️

How did they survive this? My heart would have burst from the ultimate power of tiny cuteness and I would have died. Died happy, but still. 😍

Since it's my 50th time round the sun, would you care to share my art around? That would be a splendid gift, thank you! 🥰 emilyhare.com #dragons #fantasyart #watercolour #creatureart #unicorns

Still patiently waiting to be "left behind" by AI rather than it chasing me across every damn space like a slasher in a low budget flick.

This is gorgeous, simply GORGEOUS, and I want it. I have loved these books for so many years.

Rough Draft vs Final Draft

New Q: what do you do if your publisher claims 100% of the proceeds rather than just their 50%? First of all: yuck, gross. Second: PLEASE report this to @victoriastrauss because she is collecting data and this will help show a pattern and practice of behavior.

I love Kira's books. Check them out if you love worlds with deep lore, fantastical races, dark themes, excellent writing and character work.

Goddamn it. I have so many memories of the midnight show of RHPS, week after week. Return to the stars, fare thee well.

Rather than naming a single book, I'd have to say that Scholastic Book Fairs had the biggest effect on me becoming a lifelong reader. I'd read early, always loved books, but the book fair at school was exciting. This was aeons ago and they may have changed, but back in the day they were wonderful.

Goddamn it. Dolly was such a hugely decent and good person, aside from her massive talent. She shone.

One of my all time favourite vinyls I’ve had the pleasure of working on! The brief was ‘Chrono Trigger with a traditional Japanese art and Ukiyo-e twist’, which I absolutely fell in love with 🌊❤️‍🔥

✨ Cover illustration for the last issue of Apparition Literary Magazine. Unfortunately, I don't think it ever got released before the magazine closed. A bit more about the illo in thread! #illlustration

This is the picture I drew back in 2024 (two years ago!!) for @nekouhai.bsky.social's #dtiys challenge. I almost forgot about it until today and realised that I am still very fond of it! I can't believe it's been two years already! #art #humanartist

(Re: last RT) When I first saw that bat video I was horrified down to my toes, even though I knew it wasn't in the States. I've seen a rabid animal and that video just gave me the shivers. :D
