counterpoint, in the words of lebron himself: u bum

President Donald Trump accused LeBron James of disrespecting the United States after the NBA star appeared to continue his warmups while the national anthem was performed before Philadelphia’s season opener.

One of the really fascinating things about Charlie Kirk is that his own people’s response to his death was so nakedly opportunistic that it’s like oh, ok, this guy is fair game for literally anything, he’s an object, and now his soul is trapped inside Grok for eternity.

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

how all of these conversations would actually go

Philip Bump@pbump.com

Even if this were viable as a concept (that there's an afterlife; that it allows conversations with others; that enslavers are going the same place as you), who cares? Oh, are you mad at me, Ben Franklin? Tough shit.

Sometimes when I see a piece of art or watch a video essay my AI slop senses tingle, and then I have to dig deeper/look for proof. You could say it doesn't matter -- if it *feels* like slop, it's slop -- but it matters to me. Human slop is a matter of preference. AI slop is a matter of integrity.

I know a lot of the focus here has been on the Dems who voted not to cut aid to Israel but I think “the majority of the caucus voted to cut aid” is a monumental sea change in Dem politics and the movement here is only going in one direction this is the most Dem support Israel will ever see again

Prem Thakker ツ@premthakker.bsky.social

BREAKING: A majority of Democrats in the House have just voted to cut the $3.3 billion/year in U.S. military aid to Israel. Rep. Thomas Massie – the leader of the amendment – was the only Republican in support.

You know why this is extra stupid? Commercial planes already have a well-tested autopilot that they already mostly fly on. this is a solution to a problem that: Does. Not. Exist.

CNN@cnn.com

More aviation companies are looking to AI to usher in a new evolution in air travel by using it to automate tasks for pilots and perhaps one day enable fully autonomous flights. https://cnn.it/4wNK7QS

Every tariff refund dollar Costco passes on to customers is worth ten dollars in public relations. It's an instant win and you end up with customers for life. It's amazing how many companies will happily fumble this one, like dipshits.

Another reminder: if there exists *any* class of people who don't have due process rights, then *nobody* actually has due process rights because the government can always just say you're in that class.

A US-born woman born was confronted by sheriff deputies in Louisiana who were convinced her ID and social security card were fakes. They turned her over to ICE, who shackled her & took her an hour away. Even after a lawyer convinced ICE of the woman's citizenship the sheriff says they did no wrong
