I gave a talk recently about re-enchant as resistance. I didn't put enough mention of the cultural dislocation so many of us feel at the moment or enough mention the things that help resolve that. We are living through a period of engineered disorientation and it damn well needs opposing.

Keep seeing other press organisations describing the ITV Reform expose as “shocking”. Given how open Reform are with their abhorrent views, I can only assume the thing that shocked them was watching some fellow journalists actually doing journalism, instead of unhinged op-eds about trans people.

We actually do know how to reduce rape. We do it the same way we disincentivize other behaviors: we punish it severely and consistently. The issue is not that we don’t know the solution, but that we lack the will to carry it out.

Her illness started with Covid, and despite her incredible, international-competition level fitness at the time. I don’t know who exactly would have to get this for healthy people to understand that when they get Covid, which they will continue to get, they are spinning a chamber and firing the gun.

Without hope, people won't work together and uplift others around them. In times of instability it can feel tempting to strip everything back and focus on only the absolute survival essentials, but investing in things like art and culture are key to preserving positivity in our communities.

Reminder that "biological sex" is not a thing that exists. It is a legal fiction in every place that refers to it. In the UK, in the equality act, it means "the sex that was written on your original birth certificate." Incidentally, it doesn't matter if that's due to a clerical error.

Crypto billionaires don’t become crypto billionaires by being generous or altruistic. They become crypto billionaires by being greedy, selfish, amoral, dishonest, untrustworthy shites. They don’t give away money for the common good. Is that who should control our politics?

There are occasions, not many of them, but they do happen, when the real naked visceral truth is expressed on social media. This is one of them. 👇 Wake up, Labour Party, and bloody well do something.

Yet another begging bowl email from the Labour Party this morning. ‘There is no pretending about the scale of what we’re up against.’ If only you guys had a massive majority in Parliament and could pass legislation to protect our democracy from ‘what we’re up against’.

I’m not sure why it’s impossible for a Labour politician to say that racism is not a “legitimate concern”. You cannot and will not ever be enough for your enemies. If you move, they’ll move further. So don’t move.

That the government's response to a large-scale fascist mobilisation is to say stuff like "the right to protest is fundamental" and "we already *are* stopping the boats" is in itself the story of how we got here.

Nigel Farage is 62? I thought he was late 60s, absolute minimum. It's always the same with these racist sacks of dysentery. Like when I found out Katie Hopkins was born in 1975. Hatred draws itself on your face and it doesn't use nice pens.
