Maybe this is a bad time but sometimes I look around at the world and the people in it and I am filled with an unstoppable joy, a love for all the people and cultures and languages and the things we create and the stories we tell and the music we play it’s all so wonderful, I want to scream it out

Been doodling some bad guys [check alt txt]: “For every job in the ATC:SD (Ares Terraformation Conglomerate:Security Division), there are two officers. One to patrol the semi-humid valleys and coastal plains of the Tharsis Plateau, whose job would be pretty familiar to a counterpart from Old Terra.

To survive the hostile climate, the Hazop-Sherif must be be a highly efficient duo of man and machine. Immersed in a network of Sub-Machines entombed in Cognitoplankton webs, a careful microclimate is maintained, drawing scant power and nutrients from the sun and in-taken organic material.

Carefully imported from Terra, the biomachines prop up the thin air of the Martian Fringe and can maintain the bodily function of a single adult human without refuel or maintenance for 40 days. Though veteran agents know to travel in number and to use Xecamelops to carry spare parts and supplies.”

The other is tasked with maintaining company order and profits on the hyperarid inland desert, the ice-dunes, the wind carved badlands, and the southern glacial mass.

From the MN Society for Professional Journalists: St. Paul police shot three photojournalists (MPR, Reuters, Sahan Journal) with "less lethal" munitions during an ICE operation yesterday. One had to go to the hospital. They say they were specifically targeted by St. Paul police.

I bought American Gods right before all that shit about Gaiman came out so i just kinda didn’t touch the book. Should i read it or no? Like is it something that’s worth it despite the author of what

In time for Halloween, the golems (and necromancers) of Karazad. Woven from the flesh of human sacrifice, seeing through painted eyes, commanded by written amulets… (drawn last year, and not yet featured in a comic… but perhaps one day)

If anyone's wondering how this is possible, the answer is these strike teams are moving terrifyingly fast. Grab first, ask questions later. We were about 8-15 minutes behind them today for several hours. They're jumping out of vans, chasing people across lawns, taking them from bus stops, etc

After reconstruction 2.0, many conservatives will be asking “how were we supposed to know that we were the bad guys?” and it’s important that we don’t even entertain the notion that they may have been ignorant

RIP renowned Italian film poster artist Renato Casaro. Considered one of the most influential Italian poster designers, Casaro leaves behind a legacy of hand-painted artwork for thousands of films, including such classics as Conan the Barbarian, Octopussy, and A Fistful of Dollars. He was 89.

the political policy cure for “male loneliness” is - more time to hang with the fellas (4 day work week) - more money to spend with the fellas (higher wages) - more things to do with the fellas (taxing the rich and building 3rd spaces)

'What’s happened to Silicon Valley? Why did the Ayn Rand–loving heroes of tech become Donald Trump’s bootlickers?' Your answer's right there, dumbass

WIRED@wired.com

A snapshot of Silicon Valley in 2025 is Mark Zuckerberg, now a MAGA-friendly mixed martial arts fan who doesn’t worry much about hate speech on his platforms and complains that corporate America isn’t masculine enough.

Only 1 person in the whole study went from identifying as trans to not identifying as trans. The 1/5 number came from youth going between the binary and non-binary spectrum. This headline and post are misleading on purpose to fit the economist's editorial bent on the political issue.

A recent study found that children who transitioned young retained stable gender identities over time. But the fact that nearly a fifth of those in the group did not ought to give advocates of irreversible medical interventions pause

Another example of the same phenomenon; they are killing people so they can make videos of them killing people. There is not actually any policy that Venezuela or Colombia can enact to satisfy them, because the purpose is just content creation. Podcasters with the power of the Federal government.

The US hit ANOTHER boat in the Caribbean today. Trump shared video of it, again accusing the crew of being drug traffickers. With 3 allegedly killed, this brings the total killed in all 3 attacks to 17 this month, per White House figures. New @taskandpurpose.com taskandpurpose.com/news/us-thir...
