The closest I’ll ever get to being up in lights in Times Square That phrase isn’t Keelah Se’Lai It’s the Quarian phrase I created for #MassEffect Annihilation. The name of my ship Not “by the homeworld I hope to see one day” but “by the homeworld I hope to find one day” I have a lot of feelings…

Of course, most obituaries/remembrances are going to mention Pavel Chekov from STAR TREK, as that was the role he was best known for, but if you’ve never watched BABYLON 5, check out his appearances there as Alfred Bester, which gave him a villain role for the ages, one he dearly loved.

I got to know Walter Koenig through our connections to BABYLON 5, but grew up watching him on STAR TREK, as so many of us did. Got to know him in later years well enough to ask him for an interview for my documentary BACKYARD BLOCKBUSTERS, which he graciously did. Be seeing you, my friend.

Over 2,000 alumni from Vivek’s all-boys catholic high school in Cincinnati have signed and circulated a petition demanding that he pull the ad and issue a public apology for “ignoring the moral responsibilities” of his Jesuit education. I think he’s pretty cooked.

chat I don’t think doubling down on this ad is working out real well for vivek

Allowing one unelected man to have control over crucial aspects of the US military, allied militaries, the US space program, and so many other aspects of human life is absolutely insane. We were stupid to allow this to happen and it must be fixed ASAP.

The name Sudowrite shows how well they know their target users. How many working writers will get a reference to the Unix command versus how many will be repulsed and offended by the idea of pseudo-writing?

‘Sudowrite, the “best AI for novel writing”, promises to maintain your ‘unique voice’. Whether or not you have a unique voice, it will give you scene directions and alternative options for the plot, and act as your editor.’ Alfred Nunney on AI and books, from the blog. www.lrb.co.uk/blog/2026/oc...

There’s a little girl behind me at McDonalds excited to go on her class field trip to see the “recycling centaur” and I’m not sure whether she just pronounces it funny or is in for a big disappointment soon

If you have a friend or loved one who worked in IT, please avoid using the number '4' with them for the next 7-10 business days. If you do, it will be like saying '6-7' to a pre-teen but if the pre-teen was a sleeper agent triggered by small numbers.

Ruth's Conference/Public Speaking Advice (brought to you by watching a talk with a shaking and sweaty speaker) Don't give A Talk. That's a lot of pressure. And honestly, nobody's that excited about hearing one. A Talk is some dry info they could have just read. Instead, talk to your friends. 🧵

The exciting part about the Anthropic vibe coded settlement backend is that no matter how many times you fix your information, the same broken bits will reappear. It will be total madness. The entire backend is broken because, AS THEY TOLD ME ON THE PHONE, they know it is because they vibe coded.

Does arresting the wife of an enlisted man and mother of four US citizen children, a person who’s been here since she was 6 years old, make our country great again?

Nick Miroff@nickmiroff.bsky.social

NEW: ICE is trying to deport a mother of 4 while her husband is at Fort Benning in Army basic training. When she went to pick up the family's military IDs, Navy personnel turned her over to ICE. She's been in the US since age six. With @nancyayoussef.bsky.social www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
