Why not listen to academics, who think that this is a terrible idea?

This is a terrible idea. Peer review is central to process of reaching scientific consensus and cannot be farmed out to a bot without compromising rigour. As an author, reviewer and editor it undermines my confidence in the whole review process.

I mean, if the point is that people don’t have time for peer review, then stop doing peer review in your journals (or change it). Don’t introduce a coin flip for publication and don’t encourage reviewers to do a bad (or, an even worse) job!

JFC--they are telling us to turn over one of our most important tasks as researchers to AI. This is appalling. I also imagine someone is making money here......

I do think it is massively under-recognized & under-reported that Jeffrey Tucker, the architect of the Great Barrington Declaration (he organized it, marketed it, helped fund it, edited it, & launched a right wing think tank to promote it), is a virulent anti-vaxx activist I saw this in action…..

Non farmers imagine that farmers are like them-purely in it for money. Real farmers live in the country with all the natural things there and love it. Its hard.They are careful land managers. It’s their lively hood. It’s somewhat bollox that they are gonna destroy their way of life.

My personal position? I don't ever use generative AI. It offers me nothing useful creatively and nothing trustworthy as research. The environmental impact is appalling and the companies who developed it stole copyright intellectual property knowing that is illegal. GenAI is dishonest at every level.

Note that immune amnesia wouldn't affect likelihood of subsequent measles infection. The B cells you have left after measles infection are disproportionately measles specific. So you measles is the one thing you don't need to worry about if you survive infection. See Fig 1E here
