Approving the Jackdaw gas field solves none of our problems, while contributing to the existential crisis of climate breakdown. The government has privileged special interests above the general interest. It's a shameful, cowardly decision.

Funny how both Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson echo Kremlin talking points about Russian Brexit meddling being a ‘lie’, exactly as they did a decade ago blaming the EU for Putin’s first invasion of Ukraine

Just 4 months after the local elections, Reform UK (RefUK) have lost 158 of their local councillors: -55 resigned -42 went Independent -28 defected -24 were kicked out -5 lost their seats -2 disqualified -2 suspended. Appalling record - and a waste of taxpayers’ money!

The RNLI are national heroes: the pride of Britain. Fuck any wheezingly impotent Nazi scumbag who says differently. The Masked Micrococks haven’t even got the nerve to show their faces in a gaggle of no-custody divorcee cockrings, let alone do something remotely courageous for the country.

You have to choose. You can't be nice to everyone. Appeasing corporations and billionaires means abandoning everyone else. When it comes to policy, it's us or them. And for far too long political leaders in this country have sided with them. If Burnham is to survive, this is what he needs to change.

And now I see that the boss of Scottish Water has been given a bonus of £115,000 top of his £315,000 salary… Unbelievable!!!

Richard Corbett CBE@richardcorbett.bsky.social

Since water services were sold off by Thatcher to be run for private profit, the water companies have: - amassed debts of over £50bn - paid £78bn to shareholders - raised their CEO pay to £1-3 million a year - lose 2.87bn litres of water a day through leaky pipes - polluted EVERY river

So the allegation of plagiarism in his PhD was investigated and dismissed. It turns out he did run all those marathons. So tell me, precisely, all you online sleuths — what exactly did Jason Arday do wrong? (Apart from being the wrong class and colour of course)

Two of these people around Farage were in and out of the Russian Embassy discussing Gold and Diamond deals. The third has been sentenced to over 10 years in prison for taking Kremlin Gold. How does anyone believe Nigel didn’t know?

As an aside, those politicians who created the current crisis - increasing prison sentences for tabloid applause while cutting prisons and courts to the bone - may want to quietly reflect on their culpability, instead of running for the megaphone in an unedifying fumble for clicks.

Direct, full-time jobs opening Rosebank oilfield would create: 450 D, f-t jobs opening Jackdaw gasfield would create: 27 D, f-t jobs in UK's net-zero economy: 300,000 + 400,000 more on the way D, f-t jobs in the rest of the green economy: 600,000 Is that really the hill Burnham wants to die on?

Nigel Farage just took a question from a 'journalist' at his press conference, who turned out to be his former chief adviser Raheem Kassam, who asks him why the media are being so unfair to him

RefUK, RW media, & Eurofash are plainly trying to whip up a panic about this. Any serious report must begin by explaining that Ceuta is in Africa - not mainland Spain - and 48k+ of the 50k crossers were already returned. It is frightening how many still don't know this. Please share on all socials.

Funnily enough I don't remember Andrew ever expressing these concerns the last four times a Conservative MP became Prime Minister outside of a general election.

Nothing says 'man of the people' quite like a politician calling a by-election at public expense on the issue of whether or not he should have the right to secretly take donations from Thai-based crypto billionaires and a convicted fraudster

Personally funded by far-right billionaires, including a £5m gift that could fund the average annual salary for the whole of his Clacton constituency almost twice over, Farage has lined his own pockets while shafting and laughing at the rest of us.

I always thought that if the Cottrell story cut through it would hurt Farage because it's not just corruption, it's weird. The guy calls him "Daddy".

Amazing that he considers both things to be insults. I guess he'd rather Burnham was some guy off a TV show who sexually assaults people.

In a BBC documentary, Boris Johnson admits: “We didn’t have a plan for what to do next. We didn’t think it was our job to have a plan.” Ten years on from the vote to leave the EU, and after seeing the consequences that followed, what should the plan be for the UK to rejoin the European Union?

Steven Washington reposted

Ten years ago today Britain voted by a narrow majority (51.9%) to leave the EU Most Brits living in other EU countries couldn’t vote. Commonwealth citizens in UK could The Leave campaign featured a pack of lies and promises that did not materialise Today, a growing majority want to rejoin the EU

Last week the Lib Dems said we needed to be in the Customs Union. Today they're saying Single Market. At this rate they'll join their voters (& Lab & Green ones) in supporting Membership of the EU by July. Half way houses don't turn voters on. Look at those flat lines until you get to Membership.

Interesting how the most powerful man in the world and the richest man in the world are both narcissistic racist man babies who love fascism and will never truly be happy. And by “interesting” I do of course mean mortifying, shameful and existentially depressing. But hey, at least it’s the weekend.

Blair is right that things are wrong but he’s wrong about which things are wrong, and Starmer is right to say Blair’s got it wrong but he’s still wrong about what’s wrong and how to put it right.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer says he agrees with Tony Blair that Labour should be about 'policy and ideas', but he 'doesn't agree with much' of the former Labour PM's criticism of the current government
