This guy was caught on video committing one of the worst road rage incidents I've ever seen, plowing into a group of ridersβ€”and then he left the scene. Seriously, fuck the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for framing him as some sort of a victim. You are complicit assholes. www.ajc.com/news/2026/10...

β€œGet Home Safe” as a bike lane protection chant is brilliant.

Success! We chased one of the trucks off of Bloor with more "Get home safe" chants! Still got one more truck to evict. #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero

My non-expert opinion is that Americans primarily view transit as a tool for promoting equity whereas Europeans view transit as a tool for promoting efficiency which is why we see things like this

William B. Fuckley@opinionhaver.bsky.social

Making myself angry for no reason at all remembering the American transit planner that went to Amsterdam and was appalled at how little stakeholder engagement they did in favor of actually building shit.

And I mean, equity is an important goal for transit, but if that's your primary or only goal then it's doomed to fail. You can't build a successful transit system without it being useful and efficient for a large number of people

Some construction crews did show up at Bloor and Green Lanes, but they just left. We still need to stay vigilant and call out ATS Traffic for their role in endangering those who bike. #BikeTO #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero

I simply do not believe it should take six times the time it took to build the Empire State Building to put in some curbs, plastic flex posts, and restriping at a college campus and next to two subway stations.

In a job interview: "sorry, excuse me just a moment" Pull out a gooseneck kettle from my backpack, plug it in, get out my scale and start weighing beans. "Oh how rude of me, would you like some too? No?" Start cranking my hand grinder *krshhkrshkrsh* Begin pour over "So anyway where were we?"

Is asking someone to leave the beverages at home for an interview as fussy as reminding a lady to wear pantyhose or a gentleman to ask before lighting a cigarette? We assembled a team of Post staffers across the newsroom β€” and commenters β€” to find out: https://wapo.st/4dwx0LS

So we actually have this, and it's called MARTA Reach. I ride MARTA Reach semi-often and it's a good service, but I've also used it enough to know it doesn't scale well. With regular fixed route service if 25 people all decide to ride at the same time that's fine. With shuttle service it buckles

Atlanta Community Press Collective@atlpresscollective.com

Jay Miller says he supports "Smart public transit, not just any public transit." He thinks circular transit plans, like the Beltline loop, won't improve transit issues in the city. He says that customized shuttles "that get people from point a to point b" are the solution.

The beltline is already crowded with people and any useful transit will need to be able to scale up to meet the demand. Light rail can move many times more people at once compared to shuttles or stupid autonomous "pods" or whatever

And given the length of the beltline it's unreasonable to expect people to walk from e.g. the Southside to Ponce City market for work. Biking is also not feasible for many. Transit is more essential to truly connect the beltline together than just having pavement for people to walk/bike on.

Bro have you checked on Man Utd lately? Speaking of on the slide... 😞

Why does the BBC have as one of its lead news stories this morning another Britain-hating interview with Jim 'the UK has been colonised by immigrants' Ratcliffe? What public interest is this serving?

The global cost of automobility Automobility is one of the most powerful forces shaping modern societies, economies, and environments While motorists often underestimate the true private costs of car ownership, the social costs are diffuse and largely hidden, distributed across entire populations.

Further to this: "Should we focus at all on e-bikes? Sure. On the topic of traffic safety, I propose 0.2% of our attention focus on e-bikes and 99.8% of our attention focus on cars. That aligns nicely with the real world situation we’re currently faced with" www.urbanismspeakeasy.com/p/i-care-abo...

It seems a bit odd to me to be advocating for banning e-scooters on our streets but also to have pushed against speed cameras operating 24/7 in school zones. www.therecord.com/opinion/colu...

There's also lots of evidence that people wouldn't switch to this public transport - even if the billions were magically produced to build it - unless we *first* make driving less convenient. Why would someone who knows how to drive to the shops suddenly stop doing this in the absence of disruption?
