In Wisconsin, "[t]he simulations ... suggest that [a 6-2 Republican advantage] is exactly what one should expect from a party-blind map." This is why we're challenging the plan on ANTI-COMPETITIVE grounds. The same simulations strongly support that distinct claim. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Also we’re a very distinct Jewish community from most of American Jewry. We are actually East Europe, really Eurasian, culturally as much as Jewish. How many US Ashkenazi will eat syrniki or pelemeni.

Sam@samd.bsky.social

Also, like, it’s very clear that Zohran is referring to multiple aspects of a broadly Eastern European neighborhood of Brighton Beach, some of which are not necessarily Jewish coded (like Syrniki) this is so embarrassing for ADL

AK's had more notice but CA is more worrying. Equally insane and delusional as litigation, but CA tells us something: It doesn't have any close races so it's not about flipping a seat or two. There's only one reason to target CA: it has enough House seats to cover the margin of any Dem majority.

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. “Digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro.

Meanwhile, pro-democracy, pro-Europe protesters in Tbilisi, Georgia, are tonight nearing their 700th consecutive day of protest against the pro-Russian government. They haven't missed a single day in the last 23 months.

Replying to @rafiews.com

There is blatant voter suppression happening right now in Brazil: flights cancelled and buses suspended to Northeastern capitals where Lula holds the majority, polling stations changed to thousands of kms away last-minute, voters in London told they need to go to Edinburgh… This is criminal.

This is both extremely scary and thought provoking. Musk is now funding 1/3 of the whole Republican campaign. One man vs entire richest country in history. All the while, this half a billion is the same as 90USD for mediam American. Its peanuts for him. Make him pay!

dell cameron@dell.bsky.social

NEW: Elon Musk gave his super PAC $76 million in just two weeks of October, and more than half of its new candidate spending went to one race: the Texas Senate fight against James Talarico. He’s now given more than $445 million this cycle, far more than he spent electing Trump.

has mmfa or someone like that compiled a comparison of airtime and front page headlines given to hunter biden vs jared kushner, given that kushner's alleged corruption is about 1000x larger, you would expect it to receive more coverage than Hunter's, right?

Voter suppression in Texas is working exactly as it was designed to work. Republicans closed 92 voting locations in the state's largest swing county and now voters are waiting in line two hours to vote.

They’re rotting our brains and getting rich doing so.

Billionaires throw a fit at the idea of an annual wealth tax... but literally everyone else already pays one via property taxes (either directly as a homeowner or secondarily as a renter). The only reason securities aren't taxed the same is because that's where the rich keep most of their wealth.

I think guns should basically be banned outside of hunting/sport for private citizens. The fact that a large number of Americans think that guns should be a normal part of our society is disturbing. Gun abolition should be something spoken about more often.
