Just insane. Possible clinching WNBA game of championships starts at 9:30 a.m. Pacific Time on a weekday — in competition with soap operas and “Caillou” — because teams keep planning on their own players not making the Finals. (And when they DO succeed a regular season MNBA game takes priority.)

Valkyries vs Dream Game 6 will be at 12:30pm eastern at State Farm Arena, according to ESPN

America's Highway Trust Fund spends far more than it brings in in gas and truck taxes, and the US constantly bails the fund out from the federal general fund and by taking out loans. The Bay Area will pay ~$1.3B/year to bail out the fund yet again, starting in 2028. From @maxmautner.com.

Wisconsin is one of two states I've lived in whose insularity leads to the kind of evolutionary cultural craziness you find in animals in the Galapagos or language in isolated settlements. This is what hath been wrought in the name of sausage

we're really terrible at grifting at No on G: no fundraising fees beyond credit card processing costs, no consulting firm, we do our own ad buys to avoid commissions and make our ads in-house, buy our printing and mailing directly so there's no consultant commission

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

I switched to Dia when it became clear that Arc wasn't being maintained. It's fine I guess—I ignore the AI features—but there's something I can't quite put my finger on where the joyfulness of Arc feels missing. Like all the effort that went into making Arc delightful went into chatbot optimization

The Browser Company plans to shut down its Arc browser on December 22, as it shifts attention to the AI-focused Dia browser (Jay Peters/The Verge) Main Link | Techmeme Permalink

Firefox, Chrome, and Edge all offer vertical tabs now. How many people used Arc for just that feature vs the whole of the experience?

only a few million instances of functionally un-upgradable end-of-life PHP installs out there in the world, what could go wrong?

nightshade →home, for now@nightshade.technology

details leaked. this vulnerability is a full unauthenticated unconditional remote code execution exploit against any service running on a PHP version from 5.4 until latest yeah if anything deserves CVSS 11, this is it. this is CATACLYSMICALLY bad.

"I Don't Know How To Explain To You That You Should Care About Other People" remains the defining headline of the Trump era

I keep coming back to the basic problem that if people lose their damn minds at the thought of not being able to drive on one single street next to the ocean, how are we supposed to cope with these kinds of much bigger changes that are inevitable and imminent?

We went to Milwaukee a couple of years ago for Bob Uecker Bobblehead Night (no regrets) and caught this video of the sausages folding into the service elevator together 😂😂😂

"Just getting on a bike in 2026 feels like a political act. The upcoming Prop G vote for the future of Sunset Dunes — keep our beautiful new oceanside park or turn it back into an expensive highway with reduced safety — is the current fork in the road."

It has been brought to our attention that it is entirely possible Doug Ford does not understand that a podcast called "The War on Cars" might be in favor of things like protected bike lanes.

The War on Cars@thewaroncars.bsky.social

We recorded an episode today about the bike lane removals in Toronto and decided to text Ontario Premier Doug Ford to give him the opportunity to comment. (Yes, we have his real phone number.) He wrote back.

I’ve been biting my tongue on this one. But I’m just going to come out and say it: The Sexual Citizenship approach is the next era of symbolic compliance for campus sexual violence. It’s trying to solve sexual violence by putting more chairs in dorm rooms. Literally.

Maybe I'll do local later today. But needless to say: YES on RTM and H. NO on G.

I, personally, would not go on the record with a reporter to announce I’m in favor of destroying the playground my kid is currently loving because I drive to work once a week (and the road still wouldn’t go there anyway), but everyone lives their lives differently I guess

the WNBA finals is gonna be a real contrast of where the WNBA is coming from and where it's headed. One team forced to play in a 3,000-seat G-League venue because "Sombr" has a concert, the other team filling an 18,000-seater to the top with some of the loudest fans in hoops

Meghan L. Hall@itsmeghanlhall.bsky.social

Barring any last-second changes, Game 3, 4 and 6 of the WNBA Finals in Atlanta will be played at Gateway Center Arena (3,500+ seats), multiple sources tell USA TODAY. Efforts to move games to State Farm Arena (17,000 seats) have proved unsuccessful.

this skeet has wildly escaped local containment, so to summarize seven years for those not in San Francisco: this is about closing the new coastal park we voted for two years ago it's the third ballot measure on the issue in 6 years anyway, vote no on G and come volunteer, I promise it's fun

Pretty embarrassing for San Francisco that their single-stair code section is going to require a second stair. The second part makes no sense – an exterior stairway is already allowed…there was never any requirement that both be interior.
