just think if Jeffrey Goldberg didn't voluntarily leave that group chat. they never would've figured out he was in there.

If I remember correctly, during Trump's first term, didn't he put some guy in charge of the media? Maybe the fact that we forgot about that is the reason main stream media remain silent? Don't forget that for some reason they didn't remove Dejoy and destroyed property and gave himself contracts.

Stunningly true, but all jokes aside do we need to be worried about his safety? According to Trump and his minions breaking this story is tantamount to "treason" and the way they are disappearing people these days his safety can't be assumed..

These are not serious people. I particularly love this chaos for Lil Marco who has been a real pain in the ass to South Africa 🇿🇦. He thought that he was acting tough by throwing a South African 🇿🇦 ambassador out of the USA 🇺🇸.

I m worried that they will put all the blame on Goldberg and make him pay for their stupidness. I mean what the do in general is all about blaming others and mixing that with cruelty. One never know what the results will be... beside certainly awfulness.

Wow, this is insane! How did they accidentally add the editor in chief of the Atlantic!? I wanna know the answers to his questions....how and who did they think he was? And did they notice that he left the chat?? And these people are in charge and running military operations...scary!!

Someone on BlueSky has the entire Atlantic article for free. I'm sorry I can't remember who had the link. But, no, they had no idea he was in there. And it was Mike Waltz that added him initially. It's the craziest, most horrifying story since Watergate.

Had the same thought - wish he had stayed a fly on that stinking wall. His leaving speaks to his patriotism. He didn’t belong there. Their carelessness with the security of our troops in the field was compounded by his “invitation”. He could have been an enemy, but he wasn’t. This time.

That’s going to happen anyway. They will say he should have instantly left, that he had no business being there, that he knew it, that he chose to stay…blah blah blah. And to top it off, he will be the only one charged or investigated even.

Doesn’t that app also tell the rest of the group when someone has left? If so, everyone on that chat knew and did nothing to bring it to light. Really dislike that the AP is calling it secure when it isn’t a sanctioned government secure channel.

He could have hung out, continued to collect information and then released the biggest blockbuster bestseller book about ‘the first 90 days’ ever seen. Instead he demonstrated he is a decent human.

I get that it was an integrity call on his part but also I wouldn’t have left. I would have become a whistle blower. This is what we’ve become and what we need during this time. People on the inside, intentional or not.

Hesgeth’s racism and childlike worship of special mission units is so prominent, you forget that he’s also an incompetent boob that doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing.

Some idiot -"Hey team! Here's some top secret war plans.... And remember, if you want to print them, don't forget the plans in the printer again. I'm not going to point fingers but you know who you are." Jeffrey - 👀 *Confused reporter with integrity but no clearances has left the chat.*

He could have been prosecuted for espionage. #Felon47 hates that news organization & so of course he would have instructed Bondi to bring charges. I just listened to former 15 year CIA vet & he explained how rigorous those charges can be. A guy went to prison for opening an email mistakenly sent…

I don't even know the legal issues for him as a journalist. He was added to the group, he had his name visible. It's like if you're standing still and people surrounded you and started talking as if you were not there.

He did the best he could, and he was lucky (he published it before it came to light, and didn't learn anything that wasn't already known at the time of publication). Otherwise, he would have been accused of spying or found dead in some dark alley.

Hit them where it hurts and just repeatedly mock them and call them unbelievedly stupid for this fuck up. We know they hate America. They dont care. But they alk belueve they are very intelligent Its the new weird and creepy

Even when he left, they didn't care to know who he was or why he left. They didn't care about OPSEC or handling/transmitting classified information protocol or the safety of military members. They just didn't care. Showing off knowledge of war plans & high-fiving each other was the priority there.

Now pondering about Frank Wilhoit iterations, like 'vetting for out-groups that the law binds, vs alcholising in-groups that couldn't even bind their shoe-laces'. [NARRATOR#1] 'Nor find them at all.' [NARRATOR#2] 'They probably have Velcro bindings instead.'

Goldberg handled this 100% perfectly. Once he knew what he was getting he exposed it. He appreciated the sensitivity of what he got and removed himself once he was convinced it was genuine. This is why the regime couldn't deny it was authentic - he would have disclosed those really sensitive bits.

He is probably the most ethical person in the group chat. Wish he didn’t leave, though I understand why. If found, they would have spun a story to send him to El Salvador without due process.

The only member of the chat who had a shred of integrity. Mr. Goldberg bringing this to light makes me think this is the way things are done now. In the shadows and outside of regular channels. No record, no problem. Terrifying

Straight out of the Project 2025 playbook - leave no trace, no records, nothing that could ever prove (for history's sake) all the evil crimes they are committing. And America does nothing.

My question would be how many others without security clearance was in there? How many possible enemies of America now have the name of a classified intelligence officer? Is this person even safe going forward?

The Dems in Congress are operating under the old paradigm of democracy. Yet, the whole world sees clearly that the US is now controlled by a fascist oligarchy. The Dems are placing their hopes in future elections. The Dem leadership needs to figure out how to fight fire w/ fire. @raskin.house.gov
