Hegseth: "No more dudes in dresses. No more climate change worship ... we are done with that shit."

Like others in this administration, he’s playing a role modeled after various movie characters. This one appears to be General Patton. There’s no substance:only bluster, fear and insecurity. Pathetic. And, of course if he struts around in a manic manner, he must really be a “man”. What a farce.

🤢🤮 If we could get men to realize that climate change admission does not emasculate them, the world would be a much better place.

Nope… it’s the bigger problem that fossil fuel wealth buys Saudis their viagra. There is a core, well-funded group for whom fossil fuels are their livelihood and wealth… it’s not just a false consciousness. Getting other men to realize they’re being had/seduced by stupid propaganda … yes.

They prefer to be slaves to their fossil fuel masters. They could actually choose to produce their own power instead of being dependent, but not taking responsibility for themselves is kind of their MO.

The ones I know are mostly rural guys that live entirely gas power lives. Live far from everything, have trucks, ATVs, boats, RVs. They see extraction and burning as masculine and solar and wind as cultural genocide.

On the eve of a probable government shutdown where many of those same people Hegseth is currently lecturing about "warrior ethos" are facing a near future where they are forced into serving the country without compensation. They may be done with salaries and compensation for service soon as well.

1) This is a shot of my father, occupation duty in Reims, France. The picture IMO summarizes why we fought. Not this current Fox/MAGA/pussy "fear of the other, anti science" BS. BTW, the Defense Department has been wargaming the impact of climate change for many years now.

Worth remembering most 'vets' come from poor, poorly educated, almost deprived backgrounds. Its normal for them to punch down and hate 'the other'.. Which Trump encourages. The officers, esp senior, should be made of more open minded stuff otherwise useless in modern war.

Exit polling is bad at capturing active duty voters since a lot of them are stationed outside their home states and vote by mail. The polling on vets also isn't broken down by age. Those 45+ made up 63% of voters and swung for Trump by 6 points, but 90% of service members are under 40, 45% under 25.

Reminder that Hegseth is a rapist who's so bitter that he got a Bronze Star when some female colleagues got a Silver Star in the military, that he's now removing all women from the armed forces. This man cannot deal with honest competition!

This mother f'ker is talking to decorated Generals about what they need to do to improve recruiting while simultaneously telling them that women, gays and black / brown people aren't welcome. What a truly remarkable dickhead.

Some past lover or crush must have nuked this dude bad. He's an over-compensating tough guy with no self awareness and some deep desire to hurt human beings.

No more allies, No more diplomacy. No more transparency. No more freedom of speech. No more brown people. No more economy. No more Constitutional values. No more freedom. Modern American society boils under this regime

And than again was Grant too … as a general I would be drunk too in those days : so many deaths , so many desicions … the point is Carrington: both had a moral code and were brilliant generals Bradley and Stonewall Jackson (yes stonewall fought the wrong cause), they would not have agreed

It is clear that Jackson was a serious, competent, and energetic commander — probably comparable e.g. to Gavin But the retrospect on him and his canonization as a military genius has more to do with the strength of the well-heeled Southern propaganda apparatus than objective measures of his skill.

If we want to deter adversaries and win wars, he'd be talking about how we will modernize the military's technology strategy and capabilities, not about his ideological tics. But, with almost 4 years of active duty service under his belt, he's the best we could do I guess.

I just can't listen to this BS... I want them to pan the audience god dammit. I need to see the Generals' faces as they listen to this dumbass. FUCK!!! I guess if they were seen cringing they would be removed from service, but seriously, what is the top brass thinking when they hear this moron?

Has he ever met our military before today? Remember when republicans used to say “respect the troops!”? Is this the respect they were screaming for? For someone to go on stage & call them weak losers?

If he had single-handedly sacked Rome, dismantled the Soviet Union, captured bin Laden and banished the Taliban, it still wouldn’t justify this level of arrogance. This is what you get when you give power to a spoiled egotist: an absolute Nothing who thinks he’s everything.

What I think happens (non scientifically tested), if you aren’t qualified you have no sense of accomplishment at your job, people would grasp at whatever they think they know as a project and cling to it to justify their position in any way. So what he knows is just culture wars and nothing else

What in god's name is he actually talking about?it's a bit like a six year old let loose with a microphone telling you your dinosaurs are rubbish and he's having a maccy ds for tea so there 🤦‍♀️
