JD Vance gets the biggest applause of his speech so far when he says "by the grace of God we always will be a Christian nation"

Remember how Trump polls at mid-low 30s typically now? Thats who this messaging appeals to. Goodluck in the general with polling in the mid 30s. Cause independents are fresh off their 3% approval of white Christian Nationalism.

Guess what, JD—God (in whatever way you might consider God to be present) bestows grace on all of humanity. There are many groups of humans on this planet that are WAAAY better than the USA at practicing compassion, generosity, love, fairness, and responsibility for the Earth. Get over yourself.

Funny, but it’s not a christian nation until it adheres to the teachings of christ. That means helping the poor, the sick, and otherwise doing all those things which republicans appear dead set against.

The huge applause he gets for that attack on our constitution should scare sane Americans. It's a shame our culture allowed for liberal to turn into a slur because actually our shining star has always been our liberalism.

At this point it seems like most of the people who claim to be Christian are there mainly for hatred, bigotry, moral outrage, and self victimization. The only ones who can reclaim the religion from them are the loving Christians, but they seem complacent.

So, what does he mean? Does he mean a nation of Christians (demographic), a nation for Christianity (ideological), or a nation with Christianity as its official faith (legal/political). I can only assume the latter. Just know this….Russia is predominately a Christian country.

I feel so relieved that this is just a person talking, that our Constitution forbids this to be law, that statistics show that the majority of people are turning away from so-called 'religion' to secular, humanistic, moral beliefs.

Just another blatant attempt to rally their cult with propaganda. I’m betting that the majority of their followers think the founding fathers actually said we are a christian nation. The orange one said he loves the uneducated.

Billionaires pushing to become trillionaires is nothing new. Even using religion to do it is not new. This country was founded and settled by genocide. It was made insanely wealthy by slavery. Both continue unchecked to this day.

Maybe so but that doesn't mean the people will be just examine yourself. You do not truly believe, a Christian is different than you. Christians are not supposed to lie, they help their neighbors, they bend the knee to our father, the son and the Holy spirit not the Orange deranged King.

It's like there are two kinds here now: One bunch has completely lost it's moral compass and been basically hijacked by Hate, co-opted by Pure Evil ...and the other; Trying to ignore, Looking on concerned, Standing back agast, but bizarrely feeling NO responsibility to say or do ANYTHING ABOUT IT

Exactly. I mean, people might not want to admit it. But Christianity has been perfectly compatible with colonization (including dispossession, genocide, and slavery) throughout history. It has even been used to justify it. There is a bit of a no true Scotsman fallacy here.

Yes, I agree that Christian nations and Christians alike have done horrible things. My point is if you actually follow the gospel you shouldn’t behave that way.

How do they think this is helpful with all of the big non-Christian voting blocks? They must look at NJ and NY and make the determination that the state are going Dem anyway. Still, stunning. Plenty of non-Christian donors probably scratching their heads.

That not one reporter ever asked Vance directly how he could square his comments about Ohioan Haitians eating their neighbors’ cats & dogs w/ what he wrote about on the influence of philosopher Rene Girard and his conversion to Catholicism in his essay, "How I Joined the Resistance" was inexcusable.

He, like his mentor, Peter Thiel, weaponize their knowledge and understanding of Rene Girard’s philosophy of the scapegoating mechanism and mimetic rivalry. That Thiel once studied at the feet of Girard is treachery.

I summoned Thomas Jefferson via seance, he’d like a word with you about this “Christian nation” BS. He said to tell you. “No. Never. Stop saying that. Read a book, learn some history.” What’s that Tom (he said I can call him Tom), he suggests the Treaty of Tripoli.
