Linda McMahon on successful uses of AI in classrooms: "The first couple hours every day students really have on headphones, they're in front of their computers, they're getting their subjects fed to them...the beauty of that is the student almost has a one-on-one tutor...I have seen it work so well"

"The first couple hours every day students really have on headphones, they're in front of their computers, they're getting their subjects fed to them...the beauty of that is the student almost has no thought process. It's like they're being programmed...I have seen it work so well."

She hasn’t been in a “real” classroom since she was 18. And….isnt this what they rallied against during COVID??? Spoiler alert…….it doesn’t work.

Hooray! More screen time with a minimum exposure to socialization skills! Don't waste teachers' time with getting to know their students; let them just drink coffee and monitor their dashboards. (former teacher)

This is insane! At schools and kids are plugged in, the teacher is plugged in kids know how to manipulate their laptops and are playing games… hopefully the teacher is using something like Go Guardian to monitor This isn’t learning… discussing, interacting, sharing is… not clicking on a button

She is on crack. AI cannot take the place of explicit instruction. AI is a fake panacea that teaches students that they really don't have to learn.

Teacher for 35 years here. The computer going to comfort upset child? Provide tissues to blow their nose? Give money the child that has no lunch money? Encourage compassion and companionship amongst students?

Students often have difficulty articulating where their frustration and misunderstandings begin. Sometimes you have to be almost a magician to suss it out

This is the Alpha School, a string of private schools in Texas where tuition is up to $40K. It's worked great in Austin, not so much in Brownsville. They're opening their first charters in Arizona, where a German Shepherd in a trench coat can get a charter. We'll see if it still works.

As a tutor for middle and high school kiddos (most of who do virtual school) who works exclusively on Zoom, this is 100% certified bullshit. They’re struggling with AI implementation and don’t like it! Trustttt meeee….

many generative AI are developed & owned by corporations. how can we know how AI tools are trained & what safeguards exist protecting kids against inaccurate information or harmful interactions? what protections exist against generative AI being used to spread inaccurate or discriminatory content?

They're being fed an AI stream of indoctrination, normalizing the ignorance and cognitive authoritarianism on which fascists rely. bsky.app/profile/atru...

Teacher here: absolutely a lie. The kids would be board in 2 minutes and turn their chrome books into frisbees Also, this goes against most modern teaching practice. We don’t do “sit and get” anymore I’ve gone back to paper and pencil in my classroom. Kids don’t mind

No parent in America should be ok with having this woman in charge of their kid's education! Don't let her or anyone gaslight you into thinking that feeding your kids AI slop is the best they can do. Our kids deserve better!

So kids got to school to have headphones, staring at their laptops for HOURS, being fed information by AI. Yeah, that's not what schools are for. Good lord!

I’d follow the investments and contracts the administration is making with AI companies. The lobbyists and money they n their pockets matter more to them than kids. The pro family Christian party.

"Work" at doing what, motherfucker? What exactly is it doing, that you consider a success? That matters, and probably isn't what you're filling in for yourself. Maybe ask her. Or any of them. They all use this same trick of phrasing. You conclude something sane, only surprise! It's evil.

Right. ‘Being fed’ whatever info, in whatever form, the education institution run by biased individuals wants you to believe. I fvcking hate AI.

Indoctrination by AI. The students can be force fed whatever crap the regime wants to put into their heads and kept from ever hearing anything that contradicts the regime party line. #ProveMeWrongMAGA

If you ever actually sit and watch what they’re being fed on their you’d be pissed. It’s shit quality and the kids aren’t absorbing any of it.

All lined up passively like little minions, getting their propaganda pumped into them at the start of the day. They will all make wonderful labourers or servants, I’m sure.

First of all, bullshit that she’s seen this or has actual proof of its efficacy. Define “working well” … kids sit there well? The headphones work? There is no way there has been enough time to measure any learning / knowledge.

“Getting their subject fed to them” 🙄 is she just trying to be inflammatory? Probably. But it’s so sad to see such uncurious people run our government.
