Dr Oz: "If you use AI to get a bank manager to think like a fraudster and do the things they would've done, it actually works. We're now taking a page from that playbook and using it in government ... we shut down half the hospices in Los Angeles. And by the way, they didn't complain!"

Massive Fraud Investigations: Federal regulators and anti-fraud task forces found that Los Angeles County held a disproportionate concentration of California's hospices—numbering around 1,800—many of which triggered warning signs for fraud.

He shut down half of the hospices in LA thereby denying palliative care to those who need it, and respite care for families who have a dying relative. Cruelty beyond belief.

No shit Sherlock If you ask AI to reply las a dumb politician it works We need simpler focused AI, trained on specific tasks. Not generic power hungry beasts. Small models don't require datacenters to run. Look to China to save the world (again) 😏 US will ban them, so download them now.

He didn’t realize other people don’t think corruptly because obviously his default setting is corruption, just like the other people in the Trump Administration

To be efficient and cut back on medicare/medicaid payouts to hospice facilities because these simpletons think hospice means you should be dead in 3 months tops.

Hospice let my mom & dad die with dignity in their home of 50yrs. The doctors & heavenly sent nurses assisted us in their care. A hospital bed would have been expensive and impersonal. To end these programs is inhumane and cruel. I suppose that’s the point, 😢

I once asked AI about a particular sporting event that was happening on a certain day. I knew the date, AI continued to insist it was happening the next day, and it did so for several iterations. So yeah, let’s let AI figure out what hospice to shut down.

I like her passive aggressive I wonder if teaching AI to think like a criminal could be problematic at the end of the clip. I think we are societally naive about how much AI-assisted crime is already happening, and happening undetected because the AI.

At least Dr Oz is using AI correctly, leveraging AI tools to make experts even more productive. In this case AI makes experts in fraud like Dr Oz himself, even more fraudulent.

Well, that's not exactly a surprise, few MDs are also MBAs. The fact that he pursued both simultaneously is both rather impressive and a revealing look at his real priorities. He's always been all about the money.

Ok, Ozzie..🤔..here’s a scenario.. ..apply it to Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s presidency.. ..to see if it could’ve rooted out any fraud they perpetrated.. 🤔….oh….am I missing anyone..?

Oprah has carefully cultivated her public persona. I know someone who worked for her and said she’s a mean nasty person in real life. Mean nasty people don’t care about potential harm caused by their endorsements.

For anyone curious wtf Oz is ranting about

Just some context because this sounded awful so I had to do some research. The hospice fraud scandal was brought to light by an LA Times investigation in 2020 and CA state auditors launched a formal review after that story They implemented a moratorium in 2021 & started shutting down fake hospices

Be easier to get rid of the 1%. They are so needy that they require so much sacrifice from the rest of us. if we could just eliminate that one percent and the Republicans from Congress, we could all live in peace and lift each other up as it should be.

It seems to me that the number of hospices is dictated by the number of people dying. Cutting them in half doesn't change that need unless he's saying that he somehow "cured" half the patients with AI!

Sure, blame the fancy, sycophantic word-calculator for the obvious cruelty of the government. I mean, I guess they couldn't tell the difference: They're both amoral ghouls.

When the Hospice movement started it was a nonprofit with a handful of nurses and squadrons of trained volunteers. But somewhere along the way it became a ‘profit center.’ Maybe for profit health care is the real fraud here?

So due diligence: these hospices were on paper only. Fraud rings. There is a ton of Medicare fraud because the grift isn’t only living in the White House. Maybe the Feds need more staff and inspectors to track Medicare fraud instead of showing up after the barn burns down.

Hospice is where you go to die with dignity. Do they expect them to die on the streets? WTF is this jackasses plan for that? If this is an example of what AI is going to be used for, well, I for one want nothing to do with it.

"If you us AI to get a bank manager to think like fraudster, they would've done it, and we would never know about it because the AI would be better at covering its tracks than the human bank manager. Think how much $$ we'll save on enforcement!" Now *there's* winning argument.

Teaching an AI to think like a fraudster— then let it decide who's a fraudster is a hell of a business model… And "they didn't complain" isn't proof of guilt— shell companies don't have a customer service line. Silence from a ghost hospice isn't vindication, it's just... silence.

Imagine, for a moment, being this proud at causing pain and suffering for those in dire need. These are horrid people that could at least try and do so much more for those they took an oath to help and protect.

As someone who actually fights fraudsters for banks, this is a completely nonsensical take. Though it’s coming from Dr. Oz so nobody should be surprised that what he’s saying is 100% garbage.

This didn’t make sense on the first readthrough because he’s making leaps of logic and his analogies don’t hold. What he’s saying is structurally incoherent even though we understand what he means; that’s the trouble with this administration and with AI

They've gone after the poor and the immigrants. Who can possible be more vulnerable? Ah, those at the end of their lives. The cruelty continues as Trump and his cronies get richer and richer. Who will be next?
