For whatever reason, in the middle of the night, the Google Home was circulating its lights, and causing this 'figure' to dance on the ceiling. I nearly shat.

People loooooooove reading some surface-level concerns about a technology and then acting superior for not having it in their home.

🤣 The only sentence in the above post that I understand is the last one! Wtf is “the Google Home”, and why does it “circulate its lights” and cause things to dance?? But after all that, I certainly understand how the last sentence could occur…. 😂😅

Two years ago I had a conversation with folk about a Star Trek series. When I picked up my phone later there was a article on exactly this in notifications. Now we know Siri listens. I have no doubt other devices do as well. Even if not evil, it's intrusive and wrong.

fwiw, I'm pretty certain this happens the other way around. Eg, you'd searched about Star Trek before the conversation, or seen something online that triggered the conversation. I could be wrong, but it'd destroy Apple (or whatever company) if someone would prove what you claim.

I'm pretty sure you're incorrect. I was there. And, Apple now has to pay a bunch of money because they have recently admitted that Siri does indeed "listen" when not asked to and your phone is nearby. A quick Google would have let you know.

Oh no, it was pushing out signals so you could unconsciously receive them in the middle of the night ….. Ever wondered why you wake up feeling and thinking certain things? Because this things are effecting our subconscious.

That’s why I turn my IPhone screen face down at night, don’t trust the subliminal messaging it keeps flashing to interrupt my already troubled sleep. Thanks for giving me something else to dream about Jake.

This brings very vividly to mind the time, age 9, that there was definitely a shadow of a man on the wall. It took me half an hour just to muster the courage to yell for my mum… about the reflection from a new mirror I had just received, etched to look like the cover of Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

Well it is watching you.. and listening.. the number of times we have been joking about something.. for example when my wife surprised me with a positive pregnancy test, we start getting ads for pregnancy test, pregnancy services etc.. and we don't have Google Home

You know it's kind of weird, there's been all kinds of talk about all of these Amazon and Google and all of the detection and home Aid devices. The listening. The watching. 👀👀👁👁 There's even some kind of a small camera drone for the house that can map out your house and check out visuals and noises
