My guess is his answer to the next question is “let’s run on healthcare for all and 25 dollar national minimum wage” next time….sigh…sometimes I wish WE were the party of one issue voters.

First of all, everyone needs to STOP blaming Democrats for the genocide happening not only to the Palestinian people, but also the people of Sudan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Nicaragua, Myanmar, & others. They are not to blame. (1)

(2) Right wing governments around the world, including the US, don’t care about these “ethnic cleansings” because it’s happening to poor people. This is what the party of musk & trump will do here. Black, Brown, poor people, elderly, non English speaking people will be exterminated.

The uniparty is profitting handsomely off the genocide in Gaza. They will keep funding and arming it regardless of if there is a D or an R on it. The lot of the billionaire class need to be locked in cages or worse, regardless of party affiliation.

Oh, yes, there IS genocide occurring in Gaza & Netanyahu is to blame. He’s a criminal like trump & knows he will face prison time if not more. He’s not fighting Hamas for the Jewish people. It’s a distraction.

i too am angered by truths that i refuse to do anything about. similar to my getting angry at my belt for telling me what's up as my waistline expands after eating a bunch of shit.

Instead of waiting for people to hand everything over to them, the Bernie wing of the party can get the votes, win elections, and show us all how it's done. Maybe he should do that.

It's remarkable how they expect us to sit there and fawn over politicians, treat them like a bunch of ersatz celebrities the way conservatives do. I like the left because if leadership is doing a bad job, I want to say as much. I don't want to have to make people out to be better than they are.

A few things Democrats are very good at it is losing elections they should have won, blaming the left for their mistakes, and alienating working class folks (often by showing contempt for anyone who didn't vote for them) while doing almost nothing to help struggling folks.

Even in 92 and 96, the centrists dominating the Democrats only got Clinton elected because Ross Perot split the conservative vote. Since then, Obama won on a message of “change” only for centrists to block his agenda; and Biden won only because Trump is so bad.

I don't think Biden would have won in 2020 on just Trump being bad. It took Covid, an acute crisis that was constantly on everybody's mind, and Trump not only failing to help, but choosing to make everything worse by embracing conspiracies about it. Without Covid, he would have won.

Handing billions of dollars in military aid to Israel *while they are committing genocide* isn't enough for you? You want them to say it out loud, too? Not even Biden is that dumb.

They never do. They’re already taking about needing to make Gavin Newsome their own Trump. And distancing themselves further from Transpeople, which makes that month the Harris campaign took off to cyberbully Chapelle Roan hilarious.

Honestly I'm convinced they're playing to lose on purpose at this point. They're so consumed with the desire for personal enrichment and the pursuit of petty grievances with each other they actively avoid ceding power or seriously entertaining any new ideas, even when it's necessary.

Better question: do Dems really want to win? How is it possible to lose twice to fucking Donald Trump, GW Bush, Ronald Reagan. As far as I saw, they didn't make an issue of: His obvious dementia Jan 6 Theft of classified documents Bungling / deliberate COVID sabotage Putin connection

Trump winning keeps the Dems in a job. If Dems won regularly, they'd start having to worry about being too centrist. I'm pretty sure they like having a bogeyman to pretend to fight, so that they never have to address any real issues.

I would go so far to say "definitely not". They'll run another "moderate" candidate that gives in to big business. At this point, I think Democrats are fine being diet Republicans.

Their governing has become increasingly left wing every year, Hillary to Obama’s left, Biden to Hillary’s and Harris ran to the left of Biden. (Biden most pro labor, blah blah blah). It’s probably a messenger thing, but you should look up policy platforms from 12, 16, 20, and 24

The increasing Medicare to cover in-home care, more price-caps for prescription drugs (extended outside of Medicare), assistance for home-buyers, child tax credit (permanent). Might not be what you want, but these are left wing policies. There was also a proposed tax on unrealized gains.

The rank and file that aren’t terminally online will go hard in on progressive populism. It’s only the terminally online crowd of neoliberals who want to hang on. But even I want them to leave neoliberalism and join us in the progressive populist movement.

Fighting with facts doesn't work for Trump supporters so the Democrats may have to stoop to new lows too. That's risky. People come to believe their own rhetoric. The dumbing down of American society carried out by the stupid and those that want excessive riches and power is painful to watch.

What, two presidential runs? Dude ran as a no name laughing stock in 2016, and nearly usurped one of the most popular presidential families in modern American politics without the backing of his party's committee. He's the first non-republican to win Vermont's class 1 seat since 1850.

Dude who refuses to identify as a Democrat didn't get the backing of the Democratic party committee and completely failed to win the Democratic vote in two consecutive elections. Tell me more, Berniebro.

He's won forty years of elections, like even if you hate the guy, you don't see any validity or coalitional power there? He lost the 2016 primaries by three tenths of a percent c'mon...

Democrats, and others, adamantly refuse to learn how social media, like Twitter, can smash into the nucleus of nations, breaking rib cages and tear out their living hearts. Mostly because they are out of touch, and would rather give their old friends jobs, and then watch the world burn on a big TV.

People want the simple things like a home. Instead we get told the words we can't say, the words we must listen to, the new fines to pay. And that being homeless, or poor, are bad choices we made.

Well, opinions are like assholes. Everyone’s got one. Thanks, Bernie, but I remember you not winning either so your advice on winning is not warranted. I think she ran out honest, fair, fine campaign, and lost because a third of America are still racist assholes. Period, End of story.

Harris got about six and a quarter million fewer votes than Biden, while Trump got about three million more than in 2020 The loss was absolutely to a large part due to a failure of dems to get their people to turn out.

There's nothing to learn from this loss. We did all our "learning and listening" after 2016, we sought out the "forgotten man", and for what? It wound up boosting JD Vance to popularity and not much else. The real lesson to learn from Trump's win is that we should stick our heads in the sand.

The Democratic Party totally screwed up this election. Trying to keep a OLD and diminished president.. then giving us an alternative we didn’t choose.. leading to a disaster.. And now the old leaders are still there.. OMG.. Help us 🙏

Seems like this post has gotten way out of control.. ableism bs.. Biden was a great president but for the final year or more he was losing it in front of us.. getting lost in the middle of statements.. stumbling.. falling asleep.. he’s supposed to be our leader.. He was bad and the party knew it

Ableism? Not me.. They waited until the last couple weeks until there was no other choice.. a choice They picked.. not us. We should have had real primaries a year earlier. That’s how democracies work.

They spent four year circling around the "normalization" that Biden would bring after Trump when I think a LOT of voters on the Left were wanting to see something NEW that would finally upset the status quo. Of course that didn't happen because the Dems love the status quo.

They didn't learn with Hillary's loss. They didn't learn with Biden's win. They won't learn now. Rather, they will double down on serving Wall Street while giving lip service to the rest of us. The one alternative is AOC. But they will crucify her. Pelosi has already lit the fire.

No. But a hell of a lot of Dem voters loved Bernie. Yet the DNC made sure that didn't matter. Could he have won? Uncertain. But he was certainly handicapped by the party -- their voters' wishes be damned.

You may be on to something. In 2016 we did try the conservative, corporate-owned, old white woman and almost made it. I was shown that, this time, white women preferred the Marauder in Chief, which was for me, an old liberal white guy, counter intuitive.

and that's why i largely don't support Democrats. some of them, sure, but only if they have/support good policies. ex: i respect AOC for being willing to go against her own party if it means bettering the lives of average Americans

I mean he’s right, if anything they’re gonna go further right, lose more voters and not gain any right winger voters they’re kneeling to already, and then continue to lose elections

Bernie has a lot of good ideas but has he actually gotten any legislation passed and been the first signatory on any such bill? Bernie signs on to a lot of other’s bills but has he actually shepherded a bill of his own from start to finish? I am having a hard time finding examples.

I was never going to vote for Bernie Sanders ever telling me white working class Americans needed a pass for voting themselves into poverty is absurd HillaryClinton was always the better choice she was creating the Democratic agenda when Bernie was still smelling his fingers 😐

Well, ignoring the working families of America is why so many of my union brothers and sisters are stepping back from voting altogether. I'll be working to change the Democratic party to reflect a working family agenda. This corporate love fest they got going on is gross.

Lol...we haven't learned our lesson from him and the late Ted Kennedy. I do support both of their policies just not their methods, i.e., not supporting the incumbent during an election year.

Yeah, that’s why the US is considered a flawed democracy. In swirling democracy, a party doesn‘t come back from loosing to Trump in 2016, or at least not without changing a lot. The sheer lack of alternatives is what keeps them alive.

💯 Guarantee. All actions have shown it since. They’re going to slowly move to irrelevancy and we need to operate in parallel structures. Essentially, we’re on our own.

She lost because "the economy is great, actually", while food scarcity and homelessness are both at record highs. When the party ignores the bottom, the voters stay home. Worse, the campaign kept trying to cater to Republicans. But they blame trans people. So they already aren't learning.

Takes like this bug me. What do Ds have to learn? That in order to win elections you have to be lying, crooked rapist?? GTFO with that 💩! AMERICANS are the ones who need to learn their lesson.

I don't know what you were watching but Harris was NOT running as an R. Could she have done a better job? Probably but time was not on her side. Americans are about to get EXACTLY what they voted for, or DIDN'T vote for in the case of more than 1/3 of eligible voters.🤷‍♀️

He’s so helpful, like a speed bump. Grumpy grouchy guy. Another member of the octogenarian gang who could do something but prefers to make negative comments instead of organizing a fight. Useless waste of air.

The only thing Democrats were wrong about that they didn't realize how stupid the average American voter is. Will the performative voters who consider themselves too pure and holy to vote for Harris learn?

I don't think Democrats will learn anything, as the first day of work in Congress they are already trying to work with Republicans. Republicans won't work with Democrats, but do democrats know that?

Check the number of candidates in that race vs last years. Then check and compare the percentages. You guys are so desperate for a comeback you'll throw math out the window.

alll the democrats need to learn is that america is not ready for a woman president and least of all a black woman president and they need to run rich popular white men as their candidate for president...they can keep the diversity in the house and somewhat in the senate

I love how everyone, including Bernie, pretends to have the magic solution that would've changed 2024's outcome. The only real solution is a racist, misogynistic, underachieving one. On that, Trump trumps all because he makes certain voters feel better about themselves. It's that simple.

I dont remember seeing him losing any demographics that Biden/Harris gained, but I do remember seeing demographics that would pick Bernie over Trump that Biden/Harris didn't gain. Looks like a net win, personally.

If you want to change policy, if you want better leadership, you have to vote for someone who can win. Nobody is coming to rescue us but ourselves. Not voting is the main threat to better policy because bad faith actors always fill the power vacuum you create by surrendering your voice.

The left-right spectrum is a substitute for thinking. Look at how people the current health care system right across country. Telling me medicare for all is a "left" policy is meaningless. It's a *popular* policy. Dems could win on it.
