The logic is pretty obvious here. Presidents can’t declare war so anything the president does without Congress can’t be a war. It’s not an assessment of what’s happening; it’s an excuse.

JD Vance: "We're not at war with Iran."

It's fairly Orwellian. This crap started with Vietnam, I believe. Congress never approved our "participation" there ( I think we took over when the French left) so technically the Vietnam war was not a "war", it was a "conflict" or something.

When you have an administration with out a single person of credibility, you are stuck with JD Vance selling bullshit to the American people. He is so popular he is sure to win over the public 🙄

"No, we're not at war. We drop 30,000 pound bombs on countries without declaring war. If we declare war in the old-fashioned way, they would be ready for the attack. So we let Netanyahu knock out their defenses, then our brave troops could fly in unmolested. We are heroes."

1/ Yup. Bingo. But they use this type of tautology to justify EVERYTHING. And as Robert Kagan explains in a seminal article published in the Atlantic yesterday - and what I've been saying here repeatedly since it happened, it's what the Supreme Ct's allowing re DOGE's key agency mass data breaches.

Hey dumbass Vamce. We are at war the very second you attacked another country. This was NOT a target of opportunity. This was nuclear infrastructure of a country's sovereignty. You have already declared war by your actions. I hope their first ICBMs hits you first.

His special terrifying characteristic is blatantly lying with sneering contempt with cartoon-like absurdity. Make no mistake: he is 100% aware— hyperaware— that he’s relaying false talking points. He’s enjoying playing a cartoon villain. It’s sick.

SCOTUS says point is true AND current majority nullifies the legitimacy of their rulings re rol/justice. A dangerous calculated political agenda runs majority vote. They amplify/empower unchecked king/oligarch ruled America. Rol is twisted to suppress votes remove rights for abs pwr/oppressive rule

I was listening early on CNN this morn and Berman said: The constitution does give the power to declare war to congress but that is a power that has been massaged over the years and stepped on and it has been decades and decades since congress has voted on this type of thing.

The White House is riddled with people who will litigate in court & in the court of public opinion by playing the semantics game. Evil, the banality of evil, bc every fucking lawyer thinks it’s a justified way to present & will watch this shit like it’s a goddamned football game.

To all the MAGAts who laughed and said “Trump isn’t a king! He was elected”: THIS IS WHAT KINGS DO. THIS IS WHAT WE WERE TRYING TO AVOID. They still won’t get it. Not til their precious sons are called up.

The ability to bomb/carry out military operations deep within another country is a relatively recent development in human history and it blurs lines presidents are happy to have blur. Maybe we should institute the Civ rule: If it would trigger a war in Civ, it’s a war.

If you are waiting for Congress to declare war, don't hold your breath. History suggests you are wasting your time. Congress hasn't declared war since December 1941. Every President since then has ignored the fragile Constitution. The Mango Mussolini will do what he likes, as usual.

2016, watched a PBS interview w a state dept insider "the main difference between Hillary & trump is I have witnessed her opinion change after listening to knowing US experts in high stakes affairs. Donald has ZERO capacity to hold back ESPECIALLY when nuclear ☢️ is an option. He's a clear danger."

But if we bomb them we include ourselves in Israel’s War! And Trump said he wouldn’t do that ! And the that emphasis on Two Weeks was a dead give away that he was going to do this any day now! He had no plans to wait 2 weeks ! He and everyone with him are a bunch of lying assholes! He cannot be

It's not an excuse: it's a bold-faced lie. You commit an act of war, you're at war. No way is bombing another country's sovereign territory anything other than an act of war - and an illegal, unconstitutional one.

But because of the Supreme Court ruling that gives him free rein to do whatever he wants- he cannot be tried for this. Am I wrong? What % of GOP supports this action? Can those Senators be impeached for violating their oaths?

Changing the rules again to suit their narrative and actions again. That’s not how it works. They attacked Iran. Period. I say “they” because the majority of “we” Did. Not. Want. This.

That's really quite clever rhetorical technique: Brush off the question and then slather bullshit all over the next 60 seconds so that there won't be a soundbite of the interviewer's reaction to the brush-off answer.

Except as we all know, except high-ranking Regime apparatchiks, the other side always has a vote. Not to mention from the pure facts, bombing another country illegally and not in response to a direct imminent threat is an act of war...
