I call Elon Musk a Nazi because he's an avowed white supremacist who undermines democracies, incites pogroms, targets minorities, intentionally caused the death of >750,000 people (so far) while laughing about it ("feeding USAID into the wood chipper"), and did a Sieg Heil at Trump's inauguration.

I can't speak for other people but I call Elon a Nazi because he walks and talks and acts and even salutes like one. Hope that helps clear it up.

The Felon is a real Felon. That means he will do and say anything to stop himself from going to jail. He’d rather die than do that. I’m sorry but that’s the reality we face. He’s a criminal. He’s a sexual predator. Everyone around him is complicit. What is the solution? #AmericanPeopleRule

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

Epstein survivor Dani Bensky: When you have somebody like Todd Blanche at the helm of the DOJ, it’s hugely problematic. He has the president’s best interests at heart. He does not have the American people’s best interests at heart. He’s so unfit to be the acting attorney general.

A thought on our scholars giving up and being useless compared to AI. Maybe what you were good at was collating thoughts of others and repackaging them slightly with a smattering of your own understanding. Maybe you omitted that last step. If that's the case, you are useless compared to AI.

Crystal Fleming is on sabbatical@alwaystheself.bsky.social

Anyway. Back to this man telling the audience he felt useless. It's actually worse than that. He said he felt we would all be rendered useless by AI's computational prowess. This reminded me immediately of the Ivy-league professor who recently penned an op-ed calling himself useless in the age of AI

IT is just doing what you did faster. So much of publish or perish in the last fifty years of academia pushed "scholars" to volume of work. Who could keep up with all that was written? Who had time to actually THINK? But the value of academia shouldn't be in collating.

The value should be in generating what is new. It is effortful. It is creative. It is difficult. And it cannot be handed off to a large language model. Capitulating to AI speaks more to the quality of the scholarship these professors produced than to the inevitability of its utility

NEW: Two weeks ago, SCOTUS made a statement: the bloodshed of the civil rights movement can be discounted because it belongs to another era. Claims that we no longer need these protections ignore an underlying reality: laws like this are dismantled when they become inconvenient to people in power.

democracydocket.comDestroying the Voting Rights Act wasn't just a legal ruling. It was a moral statementThe Court’s action to dismantle Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act wasn’t in isolation. It is part of a broader recalibration of rights in this country.

BYW: I don’t blame anyone who gets snowed by Tucker’s apology tour without the context of how his con works and has worked for over a decade: he’s an amazing talker and one of the finest propagandists alive. But anyone who knows politics knows better.

Anyone who tells you that we should engage to find good faith solidarity with Tucker or MTG is probably just doing politics as pro wrestling, where finding yourself a storyline is your job, or they are, at the very least, indifferent to antisemitism.

“officials discovered two industrial-scale water hookups feeding a data center campus located 20 miles south of downtown Atlanta. One water connection had been installed without the utility’s knowledge, and the other was not linked to the company’s account and therefore wasn’t being billed.”

Look I'm no political strategist but it seems to me that when the President's chief financial advisor is going around gleefully talking about how great it is that everyone's spending more on things and that credit card spending is up, that would be useful for opposition political messaging...

The tone of this article is really weird. The guy bought two guns, a shotgun eight months ago and a pistol two years ago, and they make it sound like an American buying two guns over two years is inherently suspicious or evidence he planned it for a long time. They also call it an “arsenal.”

I think the Palantir attacks on bureaucrats here is ideological - like the similarly despised professors, they are a potential source of criticism. But it is also practical. The administrative class is tasked with imposing accountability, which Palantir - like the Trump administration - dislikes.
