In a little-noticed webpage update, the Environmental Protection Agency has announced a plan to decommission its online web archive at the end of the year, a move that would wipe tens of thousands of publicly available environmental resources from the web.

I’m not even a Texan and this makes me want to raise the Lone Star. And, man, the downers attacking him saying “Texas was built on genocide” and such need to grow up. Every culture that has ever existed has its good and bad. Guess what? If you despise your own country good luck winning elections!
Texas was built by hope. By people who had no business believing — but believed anyway. To every Texan who’s ever wondered if anyone in power is paying attention: We are taking our state back. Because a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing.

THEY ARE NOT POWERLESS TO STOP HIM! Go back to Washington, stand on the steps of the Capitol and demand Johnson and Thune recall the House and Senate, and impeach him. THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK! THERE IS LITERALLY AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL! (It's called the Constitution.)
Republican lawmakers are incensed about Trump's dismissal of Ukraine — and powerless to stop him. That frustration hit a new peak on Monday as they sought to address Trump’s decision to purchase Russian diesel, waive sanctions on Moscow, and potentially stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine.

This is just flat out racism. No other way to describe it, and if you see someone trying to do otherwise (looking at you NYT editors) then correct them.
Trump on El-Sayed: "His name is actually Abduladadalalalala. It's Adulbabababababa Mohammed Al-Sayed. So his middle name is Mohammed. So I was right. He's a jihadist."

Sen. Ossoff: When you just came from the grocery store where you couldn't buy ground beef because of the tariffs and you could only fill up half a tank of gas because of the war, and you open the notice from your insurance company and your premiums have doubled, Mike Collins is responsible for that.

You never know the lasting impact of a kind word or small gesture…. My mother is a retired public school teacher. She was recently at the grocery store when a black lady came up and asked, “Aren’t you Mrs. —-“. Yes, she was. The lady then gave my momma a hug and took her back to 1970. Her first year

16. Why bother to vet information when every allegation against the Democrats, no matter how unbelievable, is believed? He tracks the pattern going all the way back to Newt Gingrich in the 1980s. Bernstein suggested that the laziness is part of the deeper malignancy affecting the GOP.

You know, it’s actually kind of thrilling, watching someone commit career suicide in just a couple of minutes.
🤡 Schmitt beclowns himself 🤡 Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atl for a Hawks game and to collude with Fani Willis, & flashed his "evidence" before accusing Smith of perjury. There's just one problem -- his facts were totally wrong. Here's the whole sequence:

The most bizarre thing about this idiotic, embarrassing line of questioning by Eric Schmitt is that it’s totally irrelevant Even if Jack Smith went to a basketball game in Atlanta-he didn’t-there isn’t even a scintilla of proof that he met, much less conspired with Fani Willis 35 days

ProPublica obtained a vast cache of IRS information showing how billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk pay little in income tax compared to their massive wealth — sometimes, even nothing. From the archives:

We really need to hear this. “History offers a reassuring reminder: whenever concentrated wealth and elites try to hijack American democracy, from the Antebellum era and Gilded Age to the 1920s, ordinary citizens step up, turn the tide, and restore the balance.” @hcrichardson.bsky.social

Honestly, I sometimes feel the same.
I saw this post and wanted to address it. If you look at social media today, you’ll see good, empathetic people admitting they are losing hope. They look at climate change, rising authoritarianism, and corporate greed and feel entirely powerless. If you feel this way, I want

We are projected to spend $268 BILLION on deportations — costing the average American taxpayer about $2,358 (according to @epi.org). But somehow we “can’t afford” to make sure hungry children can eat or ensure everyone, no matter their income, can access healthcare. Priorities.

This story is a bit wild. After Elon Musk's DOGE erased decades of USAID data, it was assumed to be lost. But a Canadian college student had previously downloaded much of it in high school for a project. 4,000 PDFs. Thanks again, Canada. Yet again. www.aiddata.org/blog/before-...
