are you interested in learning to use Git (as a total beginner?) I'd love your feedback on a Git tutorial! Sign up here: forms.gle/msQDVyJtEtre... the tutorial will be available for free on git-scm.com when it's done, and we need a few more testers to make that possible!

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.

no no no. while well intentioned, the Congressman is talking about sounds like the singularity, which is a fictional idea. regulation is useless, even harmful, if based on hypotheticals
AI companies already use AI to help build AI. But humans are still steering. "Recursive self-improvement," or RSI, is when AI builds the next AI on its own. Which builds a smarter one. Which builds an even smarter one. Each version comes faster. Humans fall out of the loop.

kagi really is that good y’all. big stress reliever to have a proper search engine again. (i don’t take compensation for posts as a rule, this is just me wanting them to have a solid subscriber base so they can offer the service long-term)
At Kagi, we're doing the opposite. We're doubling down on SlopStop: help.kagi.com/kagi/feature... We do offer AI features (all of them optional) but that's not a compromise on our core mission: defending the human web. That's why we also actively support the Small Web in our results.

If you think that AI is useless, all it does it lie, or that it's a scam: please read this article from Firefox who just fixed more bugs in a month than they did in all of 2025 thanks to Mythos and Project Glasswing AI is not going anywhere and it's going to get MUCH worse So what do we do? 1/

There aren't a lot of things I agree with Mark Carney about, but there's one area where he and I are in *total* accord: the old, US-dominated, "rules-based international order" was total bullshit: www.weforum.org/stories/2026... 1/

Oh man. I've been trying to write something kinda sorta like this (not quite, but close). But, yeah, this is worth reading.
I've spent a couple of days working on this one, and it didn't end up quite where I expected it to. But I think this is the clearest way I can describe where my head's at, why I approach LLMs in the way that I do, and why, while it's describing-not-prescribing, it's a little light prescribing too.

I was recently reminded of this. A couple decades ago, I wrote a short paper that described how the basic approaches of cryptography and computer security lead to an efficient and practical privilege escalation attack against master-keyed mechanical lock, which I published in IEEE Security and […]
