Jesse Ventura to Piker: "Here's what pisses me off -- I did 2 tours, 17 months. So did my brother. Southeast Asia. That was at the same time Donald Trump was running and hiding like the coward he is. Why didn't he join us in the Vietnam War? I've heard him talk. He said he should be a general!"

Almost 200 families, including Bloody Sunday families, have issued the below letter to the British Secretary of State through Relatives for Justice and the Pat Finucane Centre. All of the families have been bereaved by the British Army and the RUC.

The thing about Trump promising a Melania immigration press conference that never happened is the press has had ten years to dig into her enormously sketchy past but that's pretty obviously a road no corporate media wants to go down too far.

How do I know Hegseth’s order to deny access to bases to members of Congress is about a cover up, not about safety? Because I asked for a military briefing at the embassy as a substitute and was told the policy prohibited military leaders in the region from even talking to me.

For a very clear comparison, emulating Magyar would be removing all the MAGA justices and judges from Federal Courts in the first 100 days. That is the scale of democratic chemotherapy we are discussing.

I would just like to note that the Allies started winning WW2 when they moved from naming their tanks after racist Confederate loser traitors (Stuart, Lee) to naming them after righteous Union winners (Sherman). The British caught on to this earlier, renamed the Lee the Grant, and never looked back.

#ResistanceRoots The fight for universal healthcare may seem like a relatively recent phenomenon, dating from President Truman’s failed proposal for a national, publicly funded health insurance system in 1945. However, the fight goes back to the 1910s, and it’s linked to anti-labor forces. /1

The thing that's really bothering me about all this is that Talarico has a genuinely impressive track record on trans rights! The impulse that treats "very good, but not quite perfect" as though it were abject evil is such a poison

Will Stancil@whstancil.bsky.social

I'll confess I'm shocked by this: seeing a respected progressive voice openly argue that it's better to defeat Democrats who have been flaky on trans rights than to secure Democratic control of the US Senate and US House. Unbelievably foolish, short-sighted, self-sabotaging nonsense.

lol I just realized Trump is treating the voters like his construction crews on a building project. Tell them to do a job and then stiff them on the promised compensation.

this, more than anything, is why the elite have continued to back him even as he plunges into historical levels of unpopularity “we can be complete assholes without consequence” is the best thing that ever happened to them and they will fight to the death to protect that right

This is the antivaxer playbook: When someone dies of a vaccine-preventable disease pretend they died with it not of it. Pound the table. Allege a coverup.

The incredible reaction to Jon Ossoff saying just one word about our emperor's new clothes -- "Natalie" -- shows what Democrats can do if they just speak the truth about what all of us can see with our own eyes

And we end up paying for the remediation.

The deadly Cyclospora outbreak, it turns out, is just another Trump corruption story. A big donor gets a favor. And causes a massive public health crisis. Let me explain.

That this directly what is happening has been obvious from 2016.

Schooley@schooley.bsky.social

I'm not saying it's directly what's happening, but every self destructive thing this administration does makes perfect sense if you view it from the perspective of Putin wanting the United States to break apart as some sort of late life revenge for the Soviet Union dissolving.

Whoever controls the information will control the world is an IBM saying from the 60s.

A distinction I hadn't thought of before I heard Schneier, one of the best security minds out there, say it: A lot of the problems we have with AI are mostly problems with capitalism itself.

Tales of everyday corruption. Pete Hegseth cancelled the $400,000 contract for making uniforms for the Blue Angels on the grounds that the contract with "The Sewing Box" was DEI since the firm is Black-owned. Instead, he awarded it to a Trump donor for $1,690,000, a 325% price increase!

Denmark just passed a law that every person owns a copyright to their own face, voice, and body. In the age of AI, this places more legal control in a person's hands, and there are real, large consequences and fines for breaking this law. We need to make this worldwide.
