Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

not the most notable or monstrous thing about the monster, but it's absolutely wild how trump just openly, reflexively sympathizes with sexual assailants any time he's asked about a sex assault matter. it's genuinely fucking crazy. open fucking rapist president

Btw, the next round number milestone we'll reach in the 287(g) program, likely early next week, is...*drum roll*.... 1,000 of the 3,144 county-level jurisdictions in the U.S. will have at least one county-level agency active. We're currently at 995 (31.6%).

I get they're inextricably intertwined but I kind of feel like leaning so much into how he was the longtime best buddy of the world's most notorious sex criminal has given it something of the feel of a political gotcha rather than the important part, which is that the president raped people.

Diana Hunt (she/her) reposted

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

Political fundraising is like a collective action problem. You can juice up donations with sky-is-falling appeals but every time you do you lose some donors. Every campaign has the incentive to juice up their donations to the long-term detriment

This is big news. Ending the puberty-blocker ban in New Zealand is massive. It puts Cass & the entirety of Labour’s flagship anti-trans policies in doubt. Yet no mainstream media platform has even mentioned it. Indeed most alternative media, like @bylinetimes.bsky.social have failed to mention it.

Trump II as very specifically an effort to erase JFK seems like an underdiscussed angle. Bulldozed Jackie's rose garden, threatening to bulldoze the Kennedy Center, stripped the Kennedy blue off Air Force One, shuttered USAID, put JFK's animal torturing nephew in charge of reviving polio, now this

President Trump wants to build a 250-foot-tall arch. If completed, it will cast shadows on many graves and monuments in nearby Arlington National Cemetery, the @washingtonpost.com's 3-D analysis found. On some days, Trump's arch would even shade the grave and eternal flame of JFK.

1. Not sure when a new, on-the-record rape allegation against a sitting president isn’t considered news — especially considering Trump was found liable by a jury in a similar case — but it was ignored by most mainstream media outlets

I don’t think this is exactly what’s going on, or all that’s going on. It’s not that Republicans are constructing an elaborate psychological defense against evidence that Trump is a rapist. It’s that they like that he’s a rapist, and they like rape: it enacts the power of the strong over the weak.

Julian Sanchez@normative.bsky.social

The vile attacks on Amy Acton need to be seen in the context of a party that *needs* people to believe women fabricating sexual assaults is common as rainwater. Because it’s pretty much the only way to evade the conclusion that the president is a rapist.

I know it’s really distasteful and dispiriting and gross to think about, but you won’t understand Trumpist politics or the status of women if you don’t understand that a lot of people aren’t just in denial about the prevalence of rape; they are affirmatively pro-rape.

I have court documents from a Trump and Epstein mid-1990s child rape case in my 2020 book HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT, which was a bestseller. Folks pretending they just learned about this are full of it. They refused to pursue it and let victims suffer in silence, fearing no one cared to hear the truth.

Exactly right. This has been known for *decades*. The reason there’s been no prosecutions is because it would implicate SO many people in gov’t/media/business. How did trump get his no tax deal? What’s up w/ Resorts Int’l/The CIA/Trump? How did Epstein turn Air America into Wexner’s cargo airline?
