This gibbering moron's political rhetoric is a fourth-grader standing at the edge of an elementary school blacktop yelling the first shard of juvenilia that floats into his head. And he is the President of the United States. We are so debased before the world.

Trump mocks Ossoff for having "tiny arms and legs" (Who wants to tell him?)

That's not where this will end. On his last day in office, Trump is going to issue a blanket pardon for EVERY POLITICAL APPOINTEE IN THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH for all crimes committed between January 20, 2025 and January 20, 2029. Mark my words.

This is a lawless and dangerous regime and precisely the reason that the Founders created the power of impeachment and removal.

Nathan Newman@nathansnewman.bsky.social

This is literally the end of the rule of law. If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.

This is the follow-up to the Susan Collins story. Interestingly, Lindsey Graham got $100K and a $5,000 bottle of Bourbon. Clyburn got $20K and a $100 fruit basket to match Graham's language in the House budget. Clyburn had part of his donation go to the University of South Carolina.

Jesse Eisinger@jeisinger.bsky.social

NEW: Lindsay Graham and Jim Clyburn were under FBI investigation for bribery. Then Trump dismantled the DOJ & FBI public corruption units. The investigation died. We unearthed it: www.propublica.org/article/nava...

Americans Are Spending More Money to Drive Worse Cars - The Atlantic. Really people, what is wrong with cleaner, better and cheaper? Everyone will have EVs eventually. Oil is a finite resource. Get on board now.

Beyond devastating, incomprehensible & unacceptable that we have abandoned our allies & our principles and really everything the United States of America once stood and fought for. Thanks to Trump & his gang of lap dogs - our close ally now is Russia -and possibly China

Ukraine's survival requires an anti-Putin, anti-invasion Congress

Zelenskyy: "If the United States supports Putin, it's unbelievable, it's a tragedy. It's a historic mistake. If United States officially takes the side of Russia, of course we will not prevail and we will not be able to stand."

Trump is focused on coins bearing his face just to give them to liberals and “watch their heads explode.” Our nation is at war. Families can't afford groceries. US allies don’t respect us. And this is what the President is doing. We're being led by clowns.

so restricting Ukraine's Starlink was Musk's idea, but after Moscow took advantage he became "alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe" to the "night of carnage" and denied responsibility I mean, it sounds like typical Elon

This is repulsive. The FBI is flagrantly harassing Trump’s enemies while wasting resources that could be usd for real crimes. November can’t come soon enough.

a birb@rhiolit.bsky.social

worth also noting that both the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti happened in her district, and on top of the obviously racist targeting of her personally this is also an attempt to deny the people of Minneapolis their democratically elected representative

We are standing with the villains. Americans will need to fix that in November as we have disgraced ourselves. Well, not us, him.

It’s hard to think of a better definition of a traitor to the West than someone who deliberately sabotages a European democracy’s military operation against a barbaric Russian invasion.

Good questions are starting to be asked #datacenter "scope 2" indirect water use — the water used to generate the electricity they use. Here's a key point: that #water use is extremely high if fossil fuels are used to generate the electricity. But very low if renewable #energy is used.

Banned Books Week is almost over! The Trump administration had at least 596 books removed from schools serving military families. Don’t forget to get out there and read some of the books they tried to keep off the shelves. Happy Banned Books Week!

CFR: Notably, Americans were split about who they believed bore the burden of tariffs: 41% said they’re a tax citizens pay, and 40% said foreigners pay. *It estimated that consumers pay 2/3 of Trump’s tariffs

No one talks about this enough. I charge my EV at home. I can program it to charge during non-peak hours at a cheaper rate. Doesn't matter what time of day I fill up my truck, I always pay the same amount - unless I wait a day, then it costs more.

The "SI" thing is was intended to provoke this exact sort of sniveling response from the courtiers, to train the oligarchs to humiliate themselves for Trump so they'll do it again later when it really matters.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

BAIER: The president says 'SI.' Are you into SI or AI? BEZOS: I do like SI, because 'artificial' is not a very flattering thing. Like, nobody wants an artificial sweetener, artificial flavoring.

The world at ~1.5°C above preindustrial. Fossil fuel usage continues unabated, pushing more greenhouse gas pollution into the atmosphere, so heating will continue. We are *firmly* on track to pass 2°C We are *absolutely* not prepared for the associated climate chaos.

You can't get anyone in political media to say it plainly, but GOP strategy for several decades now has been built around the fact that its core goals/policies are *wildly unpopular*. Everything depends on a) polluting the information environment, b) cementing unfair structural advantages, & c) $$$.
