Bluesky knew the strait of Hormuz, Graham Platner, and AIPAC democrats were all cooked months before the experts did. Meanwhile Twitter was convinced Spencer Pratt would win and the Odyssey would bomb. Which site is the not-real-life echo chamber again?

Christopher Mims@mims.bsky.social

extremely funny to me that analysts whose entire job is to think about these possibilities are only now catching up to Bluesky Consensus

jesus christ it’s genuinely wild how dumb this man is

This will make some folks mad :). The best way for these grocery stores to work is if they use AI to get an edge over private grocery stores. AI is the one way for the state government to out perform private enterprises.

By September gas is gonna be $8 a gallon and we're still gonna get thirty separate opinion pieces about why Democrats not hating trans people is unpopular and divisive.

Love it when our nation’s defense contractors all spend their Friday nights subtweeting each other about killing everyone in the world

they should make a movie series about how it’s irresponsible to use technology to mess with the natural order of things for profit

Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show: What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

I'm ready for apologies from pundits and politicians who showed their bigoted asses and suggested we needed to abandon trans people in order to win. looks like "fairness in girls' sports" wasn't the unbeatable wedge issue you thought it was, was it? kinda makes you look like a dumbass, huh?

The lack of self-awareness is just staggering

I’m the furthest from a Trump fan. But the reality is that he would have to shake very hard to equate to the shakedowns of the unrealized cap gains tax and warren’s tax that were proposed.

I think it’s bad that every major institution in this country - every last one - is actively working to abet our descent into a racist, fascist, transphobic dictatorship the entirety of elite american society is morally bankrupt and it’s destroying us all

1) it was always fascism and fascism was the right word to use 2) they are building concentration camps and concentration camps are the right words to use 3) they are banning books and book bans is a fine way to describe the myriad ways they are banning them

There's good news too! When it comes to sci-fi, there's bound to be something you're looking forward to: a big “hard” sci-fi movie (Project Hail Mary, 2026), Blade Runner (2027?), Alien (August) and Neuromancer (in prod) series are coming, Dune returns to cinema (2026/7) & TV, For All Mankind...

The owner of Twitter sends out 100 right wing propaganda tweets every single day and the algorithm is set up so that every single person on Twitter has to see every single one of these tweets. Now here’s another piece about Blue Sky’s ideological diversity problem.

Sure but if you aren't fighting for people's attention by, say, taking advantage of a giant public display of chaos and incompetency, then no one is going to hear your measured discussion about health insurance

Chris Murphy@chrismurphyct.bsky.social

When 15 million Americans lose their health care and plunge into personal crisis, none of them are going to give a shit about a made-for-clicks twitter fight between two billionaires arguing about who gets the bigger share of the corruption spoils.

Democratic voters issued a massive rebuke of their own party last year by just refusing to show up on election day & instead of a major shakeup its leaders are spending big on consultants to find a Youtube salesman that can help a small group of septuagenarians no one likes cling to power.

Yeah I’ve expressed my boredom with “gotcha-ing” him. That’s for regular politics that ended when Joe Wilson screamed “You lie” at Obama. He campaigned to gain power, which he has done. He didn’t promise to deliver on those campaign promises — only to keep and use power. That’s his pact w/voters.

Kevin Shay@kshay.com

It’s also a 180º turn from everything he and the GOP have espoused and promised until this moment (see: campaigning on Lunchables prices). But of course gotcha-ing him for hypocrisy is the most fruitless game of all
