As someone who has been struggling with this for months, if not years, without the ability to take any time off due to the crumbling economy and empty social safety net he helped create, I am torn between “glad you got the help you need” and “fuck off.”

Rep. Tom Kean finally speaks after months away from Congress for a previously unexplained absence: "I was given the diagnosis of depression ... the doctors recommended I remain in the hospital to address my illness"

This should be deeply embarrassing for the NYC City council. Paying interns would be one of the easiest and cheapest "lead by example" things that Council could do on equal access and living wages. Who can afford to do an unpaid internship for the summer? (not poor folk!)

As the Knicks rallied with a game-winning 2-pointer, NYers held their number 1! At the final whistle and for the next 7 minutes, NYC saw a water‑use spike equal to 368,697 toilet flushes! As the #Knicks surged, we fought the urge… because we knew the team was on the verge… OF HISTORY! 🚽🏀🔥

Great conversation about last week's tragedy. Also check out the color-matched cable housing on Emily's bike--love those 80s Panasonic paintjobs 🔥🔥

After the fatal crash on the Queensboro Bridge between a cyclist and the rider of an illegal e-scooter, what needs to be done to keep everyone safe in NYC's bike lanes? Streetsblog's @sophlebo.bsky.social and @emilylip.bsky.social discuss. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVDG...

if you have to wear a motorcycle helmet to ride your e-whatever because you are scared of the top speed then you probably do not belong in the bike lane

It really seems like if we can just fix bad overtaking attempts, analog bikes could continue to coexist with e-whatevers. Limiting everyone to "no faster than Pogacar" on any 4%+ grade would get us most of the way there.

Sounds like there was a pretty bad crash on the Queensboro. Stay safe out there, #bikenyc www.reddit.com/r/NYCbike/co...

So an e-moto rider mocked my disability this morning after I said "WTF" to her dangerous pass. We absolutely need to replace car trips with ebike trips, but that's not what's happening here in NYC. Here's what it was like out there today in #bikenyc

My Monday morning Trader Joe's run coincided with the senior center group's visit. The little old lady ahead of me in line held spots for six (6) of her friends. Is our tolerance of little old line-cutters, in fact, a form of age discrimination? In this essay for the Atlantic

All the hate people have for these trucks is similar to how I feel about folks driving SUVs as though they’re reasonable daily driver vehicles. They’re not. You are also a menace on the roads. You are collectively the reason we can’t have smaller, safer, cheaper, more fuel efficient cars as the norm

David Ho@davidho.bsky.social

Our society has a massive blind spot when it comes to how dangerous these giant trucks and SUVs are to everyone outside of them.

If I absolutely HAVE to be humiliated on the willyb bridge climb by every single New Yorker on a grey citibike, could they please learn to descend, or at least move aside so I can pass?

Bike rooms are great until you get all dressed and layered up for a cold ride only to find a flat. So you bring the bike up to the apartment to put in a new tube. Why bother taking off the layers, it'll take 5 minutes tops! 1 stubborn new tire, 2 pinched tubes, and 2 hrs later... #bikenyc

Nailed it for me, except for the degrees and awards

x is populated by people who failed 11th-grade english, drove three startups into the ground, make mid-six-figures, and own two cybertrucks. bluesky is full of folks who hold two phds, have won prestigious awards in their field, can't quite consolidate their hold on fulltime work, and ride a bicycle

Caught the bridge up twice in two days—tying my record. Good to see only two antisocial future SUV drivers trying to cut the line, out of a total of eight #bikenyc

25-miler #bikenyc on the commuter around Queens today. I believe dragging the extra 15 lbs in bags and lock will make me faster. Also TIL the plural of "shrimp nibbler" is "shrimp nibbler"

Cars are a huge liability for neighborhoods. One car breaks down and chaos is unleashed for miles. Insanity.

The people I feel sorriest for are The Troops, who America's baseball team let down, probably because they don't really respect them.

EIGHT DOLLARS A GALLON. Downtown Los Angeles. Today. Trump promised to lower gas prices on Day 1. Instead he started a war with Iran and gas in LA just topped $8. This is sticker shock. This is his fault. #TrumpsGasProblem

yesterday I joked I couldn't wait to see $5/gal gas because my bike is powered by the tears of SUV drivers. The joke's on me-today I saw one of the new electric Escalades blocking a whole goddamn crosswalk. The gas crisis will hurt normal folks while the worst people in the world laugh

I would love this. I put maybe 1000 miles a year on my Miata but have to use regular insurance since Hagerty doesn't recognize my bike (2500 miles last year) as my primary vehicle @governor.ny.gov

Kevin Duggan@kevinduggan.bsky.social

Rather than chipping away at crash victims’ rights in order to lower car insurance costs, Gov. Hochul should push pay-as-you-drive auto insurance, which would reduce costs while also cutting driving, crashes and pollution. nyc.streetsblog.org/2026/03/05/s...
