Brexit was a fascist project. The objective was to establish a mainstream fascist political party in the UK. Suddenly both their flagship project and the party they established are under threat. The backlash from the far right in politics and the media has been hysterical.

#bbcbreakfast Brexit has not been “reopened because of Andy Burnham”, but because: - it’s turned out to be a costly mistake - geopolitics shows we can’t rely on the US, but need to work with our neighbours with whom we share common interests - the public has turned against it

One day I hope to see a similar apology from the BBC. Sadly, that day will not be anytime soon while GB News and other hard right political alumni continue to control the output of BBC News. #r4today

As in Hungary, the authoritarian regime in Serbia is being dismantled . “For years, we failed to fulfill our duty. We kept silent, turned a blind eye, reported events one-sidedly, and failed to ask the necessary questions. For that, we owe our viewers an apology,” news anchor Goran Eror said.

As Jim and Andy are "coming together" and agreeing with each other, perhaps it's time #r4today found an economist with a different opinion?

This is when you know an organisation is screwed. The company is collapsing and the boss blames the staff.

Blue Robbo's lead-in to the 8.10 interview was basically to pour scorn on a politician saying political things in order to further their political objectives and reframe the political debate. #r4today

The BBC news headline about the former FBI director, James Comey, is missing the fact that his daughter won a court case against Trump and they immediately went after him for a third time. #r4today

The Conservatives wouldn't have had an 80-seat majority to "betray Brexit" without Farage's party standing down during that General Election - and it seems getting paid to do it. #r4today

Finally, someone with power said it. Regulate social media, tax tech companies like any other business, and prosecute the managers and owners when they use the business to break the law. End billionaires before billionaires end all of us. #Lula #r4today bsky.app/profile/adam...

Lula: "We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate. A crime in the digital world must be treated the same as a crime in the real world. We cannot have monstrous companies earning millions... not paying taxes... wanting to steer elections."

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

What is the BBC's justification for maintaining this level of coverage of Reform now it has slipped into third place?

Alex Andreou@sturdyalex.bsky.social

BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

Two massive elections in the wider world not quite big enough to lead the news on BBC "World at One" (Serbia nips in, though, just ahead of "rough play"). #wato

Bolsonaro's loss is not just a loss for Bolsonaro. It's a loss for Trump. For Musk. For Milei. For Netanyahu. For Farage. For Meta and Zuckerberg. For the meat barons, the fossil fuel corporations, and the rest of the neocolonial looters. And it is a massive win for humanity and the living planet.
