It turns out punishing coup plotters actually is an effective deterrent!

“The communications backbone for an entire country’s military has gone down and nobody knows who is responsible” Yeah we’re gonna need to send people to prison and start nationalizing things.

Reminded of how tv news looped the images of the military equipment the Biden administration deliberately left behind in Afghanistan for weeks after the withdrawal as if they represented a huge scandal

some fuckin jalapeños, a god damn tomato, lots of olive oil, kosher salt, and red wine vinegar. got some semolina bread

Pat here thinks calling Trump a fascist is "name-calling." I don't think it's out of hand to consider Pat himself a fascist-sympathizer. Sympathizers often seam polite and even reasonable in many things.

It should be assumed that you wish death upon JK Rowling unless you explicitly say you don’t.

What's extremely telling is that there is never once an article like this written from the perspective of the person who cut off their parent.

This is a quietly metastasizing moral panic

“Elon Musk has said…”

Elon Musk has said he will give every child in America a stake in SpaceX, his $2 trillion aerospace and artificial intelligence company, as tech firms face intensifying scrutiny over their impact on society. https://cnn.it/4yWTjTJ

Tim Robinson, sketch comedy GOAT: “Lorne has lost his fucking mind and someone needs to shoot him in the back of the head,” Robinson is written to have said around the time of Trump’s hosting spot, per Morrison’s book variety.com/2025/tv/news...

It’s funny what a low opinion of themselves they have that their followers wouldn’t follow them if they posted that they’re leaving the Nazi site We’re going to see even more pitiful capitulation in the offline world

Yeah that's neat man. Did you know the guy who runs it is using his unimaginable wealth to accomplish all of the goals of the KKK? I don't care if it's the Dave & Busters of blowjobs, I'm not going

A decent comedian could find a non-misogynistic joke about leggings that accentuate your anus, but Shane is not that comedian

Another meeting of the minds I missed by not being on X, the Everything App!

More to the point — people who stayed on the platform don't realize how inured to extremism they've become. They regularly get exposed to trending topics, and amplified content from verified accounts, that they would have recoiled from just a few years ago. I don't miss anything *not* being there.

I just think it's dishonest to say that the politics are unavoidable on other platforms, but they are on X. Its *point* is its politics; you're just saying they exist at a level you find palatable. The guys who doxed my family aren't on the other platforms; they're followed by staff members on X.

Trump: "My wife told me 'It's not veygan, it's vegan.' I don't know about that stuff. I called it veygan. How the hell would I know? I like steak"

Fuckin Melania having a conversation with him LOL. And correcting his pronunciation no less. I’m so fucking sure.

There’s only one cure for fascism and it’s not “improved media literacy”

Netanyahu has been re-elected multiple times. Brexit was a national referendum. AfD’s recent gains came in a free and fair vote. National Front/Rally gets its support freely too. Putin rigged the system, but independent measures have consistently shown him popular. Many want this stuff.

Once fascism enters the brain and takes hold you have to toss the whole nervous system. It’s junk now.

Watching every kid movie over the past few years and Super Mario has to be the worse voice acting ever recorded and certainly ever cast
