Maybe if the three network newscasts spent as much time covering remarks like these as they do on weather disturbances and footage of riots in Europe it might collectively prompt these guys to tone it down. But why should they? They pay zero political price today.

In any other time, this would be a scandal covered nonstop on TV.

This report is genuinely overwhelming, in terms of the evidence both against Trump and of a ham-fisted cover-up. Including one instance in which Ghislaine Maxwell was actually about to mention one of Trump's young accusers and Todd Blanche told her to stop talking. The media response is "yawn."

This asshole needs to be catapulted from office.

House Judiciary Democrats have just released a 50-page report that pulls together years of assault allegations against Trump and his reported connections to Jeffrey Epstein. The report calls for a special counsel to investigate Trump's ties to Epstein.

Everyone who is saying "Dems in red states have to throw trans people under the bus to win" -- no. They don't. When they do that, we just start with no winning options on the table. It gives in to the fascist premise that we get to decide some groups don't get rights. THIS is what I want to see.

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

Aaron Sorkin wrote it best in “The American President”: “The White House has the single greatest home court advantage in the modern world.” That is something Trump and his apologetic goons refuse to understand. The White House doesn’t need to look like a Cheesecake Factory or a gaudy banquet hall.

And it shouldn’t be made to resemble one. If you can’t feel powerful enough standing in the White House like 42 other men before you, and respect its history and venerate it accordingly, then you are insecure beyond belief. And unfit to occupy it.

Presidents have put their personal touch on the White House in minor ways. What Trump has done to it isn’t merely gilding a lily; it’s destroying its stature in the world as a place of power and respect for American values. Who can respect anyone who does this to our landmarks?
