It's weird worrying about terrible slop taking over software, while at the same time being reminded everyday of how bad humans are at writing software.

The demographic that uses the internet and social media the most *by far* and it's not close, is young Black people. They're also the demographic that chooses fascism the least. 🙂🙃 So saying "it's the internet!" or "it's the phones" avoids focusing on what's really happening.

my uninformed mental model of AI proofs in mathematics is that they’re like lighthouses in the fog. the fog is still there, and clearing the fog is the primary value of the discipline. the lighthouses give a bit of an orientation but don’t clear the fog on their own.
