I have a Big Ask from our community. Many of you will remember our graduates Pikachu and Eevee, who were adopted together. Eevee had dealt with some very challenging chronic diarrhea while she was a kitten, but before adoption, we figured out a food that worked for her & she was all better (thread)

You're awake! Gosh, how wonderful! You hit your head in early 2016 and have been asleep ever since. I'm so glad you're back. Come downstairs. The sun is shining. I made pancakes. Did you have any dreams?

Body: The autumn approaches. Consume carbs. Make soup. Me: It was 94 degrees today. Body: Nestle in the bed beneath a mountain of blankets. Me: I was sweating so much I had to change my bra. Body: You crave cozy. Become one with the cozy. Me: I'm going to go sleep face-up in the pool.

Some avocados are female in the morning and male in the afternoon, while others are on the opposite schedule. This helps them avoid self-pollination. How do they do it? A @ucdavis.bsky.social study explains. www.ucdavis.edu/food/news/st...

Having a chronic illness is wild. I had the audacity to think I could get blood drawn for routine tests and then go to work for the rest of the day like a normal person, and as a result I've felt like I'm dying for the last two weeks.

Every time I see someone say "the pronouns have just become a gimmick" I look over at the folks who say they love the pronouns and it makes their heart happy and start trying to figure out how to put even more pronouns in the next book.

Hello! 👋 I'm hoping to raise money for two Bay Area cat rescues. If you post a screenshot of you donating at least $20, I will answer a style-related question for you. But first, let me tell you about the rescues, why they're worthy of your support, and hopefully get you to adopt a cat. 🧵

if i seem laid back and relaxed to you, it’s an elaborate ruse - i actually carry the kind of tension that makes massage therapists and other health professionals say “wow” and “oh no”

This hits different now that I have the book in hand 😭

About 45% of pet ownership is walking by them and badly singing little songs that integrate their names. If you can’t do this, then I’m sorry, you are not ready for the responsibilities of owning a pet.

Poor people don't "deserve" free services if they're not angelically perfect and being poor the right way. Rich people don't "deserve" free services because they could afford to pay. Here's a thought! Public services should be services for The Public--i.e. EVERYONE.

On this Trans Day of Visibility, I would just like to say that trans rights are human rights and that celebrating the trans community as a part of all communities enriches every one of us.
