The most useless form of news is “CEO says.” Can this tool actually do what it says or is the company just trying to profit off fear?

PSA: No Kings is a coalition, not an org, and it does not do fundraising appeals for itself. Partner orgs raise money for costs we're incurring to put it on. But if you get a text from "NO KINGS" or a PAC you've never heard of before asking for $ that is a scam and you should block/shame away.

It was an MLM convention. Anyone whose Dad ever sold Amway knows what this was. The downlines have tapped out their networks and are dropping off, garages full of product they can’t move and broken homes waiting for them when they get back.

Phang: I’m here in Dallas, Texas, at the Republican National Convention’s midterm convention. I can tell you it’s an incredibly underwhelming energy here. Many of you may have been to conventions in other cities. There is a dynamic, almost frenetic energy surrounding a convention. Here? Womp womp

I’m a Texan trans kid who almost died because of Ken Paxton. The world should know what he’s done. This was very difficult for me to write, but given what's at stake, I cannot bear to stay silent about what I went through at Paxton's hands. He must not be rewarded for what he's done to trans kids.

When I first went on the job market, I got offers from the best places & chose Stanford. The joy of that moment was tempered by the vitriol of those convinced I was unworthy of such opportunities. I learned long ago I’ll never convince them I am worthy. What great freedom came from that awareness.

(I also think way less of people who think they’re “important thinkers” because people get mad at their thoughts. That’s just you trying to handwave away people with valid concerns as irrelevant while padding your ego. Again, pick one because it can’t be both.)

Everywhere should be a hostile place for Republicans. They should not be able to find a friend anywhere. They should lose all their professional and familial relationships. They should be blocked from signing up to social media platforms, clubs, and yard sales. They should be ejected from fairs.

Centrist Americans being mystified by Kier Starmer's unpopularity despite him doing everything they're always telling Democrats to do is so funny. Just the biggest dumbasses around.

Obama can wax poetic all he wants about Minnesotans standing up to ICE but it was under him when we really saw the militarized police riots against protesting civilians come to the fore.

Any version of "MAHA" that excludes children eating well and not being exposed to unreasonable environmental pollution is bullshit.

For 30 years, Congress has fully funded #WIC to ensure all eligible families who apply can receive full benefits. The House agriculture appropriations bill would break this promise: it would underfund WIC & cut benefits for WIC participants in every state. www.cbpp.org/blog/house-a...

So much of the political establishment seems determined to give Trump credit for qualities they really want him to have that he doesn't, because he's the president and it would be embarrassing if the president didn't have those qualities.
