Yes. I am calling for a purity test. Nothing will matter if we nominate someone who won't: • Attempt aggressive institutional reform (SCOTUS, DC statehood, ICE, etc.) • Hold the criminals of this administration accountable • Rebuild and expand the social democratic institutions Trump tore down

Patrick Fenelon@patrickfenelon.bsky.social

Someone should really come up with a check list for potential 2028 Democratic Party Presidential candidates with regard to how they'll attempt to prosecute the innumerable crimes of this administration, reform SCOTUS, & rebuild the institutions that Trump tore down.

🧵 Minneapolis early voting thru Monday. 7 full early voting days to go, but precincts in blue at/above 2022 *total* early vote. Orange = below ‘22’s total , but again, full week to go. Only 1 precinct (7-10 in Stevens Square) is below 70% of ‘22. Pace seems certain to smash 2018 midterm record (52k)

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

This report is genuinely overwhelming, in terms of the evidence both against Trump and of a ham-fisted cover-up. Including one instance in which Ghislaine Maxwell was actually about to mention one of Trump's young accusers and Todd Blanche told her to stop talking. The media response is "yawn."

Vile stuff. Perfectly clear that Robert Kennedy Jr. is a fascist and trying to position himself as Trump’s heir apparent. I just want to take this moment to shout out all the post-left contrarian types who embraced him as some kind of independent voice for truth. Good job, losers.

Betting markets are very accurate at the VERY LAST MINUTE (like...the second polls close, basically). That's when the smart money always makes its move. They are very, very, very bad at predicting elections any time before that.

Brazil elected Lula again tonight. Poll averages appear to have had Lula and Flávio Bolsonaro effectively tied, maybe Bolsonaro up 1 on Lula — so not sure why the markets had this race at 80-20 Bolsonaro. Markets might miss big in the U.S. midterms in 9 days too.

I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.

The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more: www.nytimes.com/athletic/772...
