Many years ago, i had a serious mental health crisis and was hospitalised for it. The care was actually really good and that week on a womens ward did in fact save my life. Had i been treated as the nhs now says i should be, i would have in fact, only been pushed deeper into my suicidal crisis
This will kill people
With my own money? I think it was probably Ben Liebrand's remix of Eve of the War which I bought and liked less than the original, which I already had on cassette
I'm reasonably sure it was the 7" single of Especially For You by Kylie and Jason, unfortunately (I still kinda like the B side, All I Really Wanna Do)
HIGNFY indignant that its role has been minimised in this
Somebody wrote this about the BBC, with no irony whatsoever “It is understood any new cash raised under the plan will need to be spent on reviving local journalism and tackling misinformation, which has fuelled the rise of parties such as Reform UK.” www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

I’m sure this will mean that Netflix, YouTube Premium, Prime Video, and Disney+ will be available for free and without adverts, right? Because it would be ridiculous to expect me to pay twice for a service, just because the BBC needs some more money for the transphobia and racism machine.
BBC licence fee to be extended with ‘YouTube tax’ to force more to pay

www.theguardian.com/commentisfre... "The biggest problem, though, is Germany’s belief in the enormity of its problems....the extreme right has a brief and simple story to tell." - yes absolutely and the root of that story is xenophobia. That will take decades to fix, decades we don't have.

Every so often these days I am reminded of the cover of the James Bond Theme by the Surf Champlers that appeared on the Rough Guide to the music of Japan CD. It was a really good CD. I miss those Rough Guide albums. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXt1...

After reports yesterday, social media is flooded with comments about the death of an individual. However, just as one would expect legacy media to be careful how it reports, that responsibility also falls on me & YOU. Please read:

There's no argument being made here - Luckey's 'point' is literally 'you may think that this is bad, but have you considered that it's good?' It's entertainment - he's doing 'ssh, let people enjoy things'. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Glasgow is seeing a dramatic rise in racist incidents, from physical attacks to racist patrols in streets. The rise of emboldened racists needs to be taken seriously, but protests like this show that the majority of Glaswegians will still not accept racism in their city. Keep fighting back ✊🏾
Chants of 'Don't protect the women, we can fight. We don't need your fascist shite' rang out in Glasgow tonight. As anti-fascists, women's rights groups and trade unionists protested against 'patriot platform' and their supporters pushing their racist agenda in the city. Things you love to see ✊

YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT IN "THE GOLDBERGS," IN THE PRESUMPTIVE 80s THE KID HAD THE REISSUE OPTIMUS PRIME WITH THE SHORTER SMOKESTACKS FOR SAFETY REASONS, AND HIS GRANDFATHER(?) DRESSED UP SPECIFICALLY LIKE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OPTIMUS PRIME, WITH YELLOW ARM-ARROWS AND THE LIVE-ACTION MOVIE AUTOBOT SYMBOL

The song “Yakko’s World” was never accurate for any date in history even if you ignore all the non-countries that are included for meter and rhyme. The song refers to “Germany now in one piece” and later to “both Yemens”. Yemeni reunification actually occurred nearly half a year before German.

one of my art history professors once pointed out that donatello was an early renaissance sculptor while michelangelo, da vinci, and raphael were all high renaissance painters, and it would have made a lot more sense for the fourth ninja turtle to be titian. this has always stuck with me

Your regular reminder that in 2023 I was asked on Women’s Hour to be interviewed by Emma Barnett about Alice’s inquest. I said no, because Emma is GC, but I’d go on with someone else. They didn’t engage with me after that. The BBC is biased. It’s anti-trans and anti-anyone who supports trans people.
Bethany wore a “Protect The Dolls” t-shirt during rehearsals. The BBC posted it on their socials then quietly deleted and reposted it without showing her from the front. On TV last night they actually blurred the message #Strictly

This entire thread has a fair few instances of OH SHIT THAT GUY But enough instances where I don't know who someone is that I can safely declare myself not tremendously online
15 - I suppose I have to mention "him", but RSole Archer. Distinction is that he's the only one on this list to have blocked me (well maybe until this evening). Doesn't have anything to sell. Not monetised. Just loves telling tales to confirm people's biases. Bizzare
"Zionism, a thing which has existed since the late 19th Century, is two thousand years old" - this guy could teach a masterclass to the Church of Scotland guys who hate every new thing until they've been doing it for ten years, then they swear it came in with Calvin
I again point out: Jonathan spends much of his time on this podcast explaining to absolutely crazed wingnuts that Israel cannot simply destroy the Palestinians and then call anyone who objects to it Hamas, without people getting quite upset about it.

I reckon more people think of Prince Vultan of the Hawkmen than they do Boss Nass.
9 October 1936. British actor Brian Blessed was born in Mexborough, Yorkshire. He’s best known for playing PC (“Fancy”) Smith in Z-Cars, Augustus in BBC series I Claudius and Boss Nass in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace. He also shouts a lot in TV advertisements.
