Being an aerospace engineer and a FCEV driver ( been hauling around 10 ksi tanks for over 7 years now without incident), I don't have a reflexive reaction to the tanks themselves. I trust Tesla quality a lot less though, and I don't see much of a safety barrier between the tank and the driver.

Ian Boudreau@ianboudreau.com

Ah, the auto influencers have explained that this carbon fiber-wrapped ball, which sits right behind the driver's head, holds about 100kg of nitrogen pressurized to about 10,000 psi. Let me just go review the tolerances people found in their Cyber Trucks

Also, to see the stans fawning over this after the years of comments I've gotten from the BEVangelists about how dangerous the 10ksi tank was is pretty funny.

Really proud of Beverly Hills Unified School District teachers who are courageously standing up for integrity, inclusion, and good governance in the local school board race.

In 'Rendezvous with Rama', Arthur C. Clarke laid out some fictional history, and I remember thinking it was odd he felt like including a mention of African nations have a run of dominance in the World Cup in the 2030s. But it's 2026, and it looks like he may have been on to something. Well done.

really cool going from the 2010 World Cup, where Ghana’s little run seemed like a magical anomaly, to a bunch of African teams contending across the bracket and participating in the global pastime of causing fear and misery in England.

Reporter: Did you post that picture of yourself depicted as Jesus Christ? Trump: It wasn't a depiction. I did post it and I thought it was me as a doctor. And had to do with red cross as a red cross worker, which we support and only the fake news could come up with that one.

There's been a lot of debate within the Democratic establishment about what rhetoric to use via ICE. Well, an incumbent doesn't lose by 48 percentage points very often—and her vote on collaborating with ICE was the defining issue here.

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

JUST IN: North Carolina's Dem lawmaker Carla Cunningham gave the GOP the decisive vote to pass a law forcing police to comply with ICE. She said "all cultures are not equal." She just lost reelection BIG in the Dem primary to a progressive pastor & activist, Rodney Sadler. 70% to 22%! Context:

I am old enough to remember when 'no forever wars' was a reason people claimed they were voting for this guy, or at least refusing to vote for Harris.

One by one, Europeans mentioned in the Epstein files who still hold political office are beginning to resign or are being forced out of office. Meanwhile, ruled by an administration almost entirely made up of Epstein associates, the US carries on as if nothing really happened.

So the next step from democrats is: “it is illegal to do this without approvals and in 2029 we will hold all companies that take part criminally liable and seize all their assets to pay for restoration.”

Even before 2024 ICE was synonamous with separating kids from their parents and putting people in cages in “detention centres”. Claiming they only became awful recently is a take which requires a very short memory or a complete lack of awareness altogether.

Yeah sure, most oil co's wouldn't want Venezuela's oil assets, but there is one that very clearly does want a return on its investment, owned by a GOP megadonor, and it's been in the news. But turning off the comments makes it hard for people to tell you about it share.google/LId62Y475qn1...

The amount of “this is clearly about oil” posting across all platforms as story after story comes out where the oil industry is saying that the oil isn’t worth extracting is making me feel a little insane

I remember hearing about this when it happened. The fake police parked their fake police car in the street during an abduction raid. This hero towed it, and the video of them helplessly chasing him is pretty great. So glad he was found not guilty. Justice was done. abc7.com/post/man-acc...

Maybe instead of committing atrocities, we could just make the rich pay their fair share and have universal healthcare and affordable housing instead. Idk, just spitballing here.
