The USPS faces a tight squeeze. With fewer people using the mail, it’s lost more and more money: $9 billion in the 12 months ending in September alone. https://cnn.it/4qkeNoF

The USPS is a service set up in the Constitution controlled by Congress for the Good of the Republic. It was Never intended to be a Business. Then during Nixon's admin. it was changed, then in 2006, PAEA required Huge payments to fund retiree health care and Pensions for 75 years, Thanks GOP..😞

It’s a public service not a business for profit. They are required to deliver mail/parcels to anyone in the United States. A privatized business would tell many Americans living in remote areas tough 💩if they want mail, it’s not profitable.

It’s in the constitution. It’s a service, you fucking abject morons. It’s not SUPPOSED to make money. Stop framing it in a business light. It’s to make you ok with them eliminating yet more of our constitutional rights.

the stamp printer machine now only prints INDIVIDUAL stamps. HUGE honking forever stamps which take FOREVER to print out. Used to be able to print a sheet of 10 real stamps in a minute or so... If you want a real stamp you have to go to a window. Enshittification will continue

Kinda leaving leadership out, which “isn’t just a conflict of interest—it’s an aggressive step toward handing America’s mail system over to corporate interests. Private shippers have been waiting to get USPS out of parcel delivery for years” www.nalc.org/news/nalc-up...

nalc.orgNALC statement on the reported selection of David P. Steiner to lead USPSNALC strongly condemns the reported selection of David P. Steiner to lead the Postal Service. Steiner comes directly from service on FedEx’s board of directors, presenting a clear conflict of interest...

It's fun how when they raise the cost of postage they lose even more customers, and they can never seem to figure out how cause equals effect…

Your an alleged news organization @cnn.com maybe you should know it’s a government service not a for profit business? Compare & contrast the profits from the department of defense with the mighty USPS…which does great job with amazing employees. Stop shilling for MAGA and try journalism

As a Royal mail worker in the UK, I think sending letters will be a thing of the past in the next 5 years. It's all parcels now. Just look at your own post, 90% advertising. When the Internet crashes though.....

Please learn from the comments here. Stop misinforming and spreading ignorance. It's malpractice. We need a higher level of civic discourse in this country.

TAE Technologies is interested in paying top dollar for bankrupt companies like Truth Social. Maybe they’d like to purchase the USPS for $75 billion. TAE paid $6 billion for a company with $10 million in revenue and $400 million in losses in three years when they ‘bought’ Truth Social.

STOP IT YOU FUCKING MORONS. The USPS does not “lose” money. It *COSTS* money. Because it’s a service we *pay* for. Framing it this way only serves the people who are working to dismantle it. If you want to talk about government agencies losing money, talk about the Army or something. Christ.

It's a government service, not a business. It isnt meant to turn a profit, the whole point is to make sure everyone in this country gets the mail, period. The only reason it has such a budget deficit is because the Republican Party forced it to pre-fund future retirements 75 years in advance

I mean, Louis Dejoy is intentionally damaging it and trying to funnel money to interests in the private sector. GOP playbook is to wreck government institutions then talk about how government never works, use that as an excuse to further cut funding and destroy our government services.

USPS was placed under restrictive regulations & loaded w/ debt, forced to guarantee pension funds long beyond reasonable limits, by Republican pols for the purpose of making it "lose money" & force privatization for more expensive, limited mail service by their cronies. They broke it & stole the $.

Fortunately, it's a public service, it's in the Constitution, and it works for all of us, not for a profit. If it was good enough for the first Postmaster General, Benjamin Franklin, it's good enough for me.
