I wonder if there are still any holdout haters of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Y'know, guys who really stuck to their guns throughout the heydey of 90s Trek, insisting to this day that it isn't "their Star Trek" and cursing the name of Rick Berman and Alex Kurtzman with equal venom

Watching the puppet episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and it's got the madcap energy of early Muppet movies that threads the needle between the serious and the ludicrous. Ethan Peck also does a great job playing "the one guy who's not a puppet". I had my doubts, but consider me charmed!

still not quite over the fact that i watched 15 year olds get sued for millions of dollars for downloading twelve songs and now we all have to accept AI slop because every tech company in the known universe decided that IP laws don't exist now that they're inconvenient for them

lol; lmao, even

I guess I do think if you participated in the arrest of a five-year-old you are probably just fundamentally incompatible with society. That you are not a safe person for humanity to be around, generally

I don't know who needs to hear this, but cops are not allowed to shoot people just because you didn't do what they said. That is called murder when they do that. Some cops are working hard to convince people otherwise.

You're thinking of kibble. Kubernetes are exercises for strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, the set of muscles you use to stop the flow of pee

You're thinking of cyberspace. Kubernetes is a type of dog food made from mixed veggies, grains, and meats, dried and formed into pellets.

Cannot wait for this stupid bubble to burst

Crucial is shutting down — because Micron wants to sell its RAM and SSDs to AI companies instead. It’s already getting hard to build an affordable PC, and the exit of the longstanding provider of consumer memory is going to make that even more challenging www.theverge.com/news/837594/...

Nvidia is probably too big to fully collapse and will survive whatever happens with the AI bubble but I would love to see Jensen Huang crawl back to PC gamers after having to sell his leather jacket collection like "Heyyyyyyyyy, we're still cool right?"

It's funny to think that my preference for urban living in areas with dense, mixed-used, walkable neighborhoods, multi-family housing, small businesses, and diversity probably stems from Sesame Street. Like an early education in Jane Jacob's urbanist theories.

When I was in middle school (mid '90s), I had to do a music + slideshow presentation for Earth Day. I had the idea to use Tom Lehrer's "Pollution". The only problem was, the only version we had was on an old tape reel, which my dad had to teach me how to dub to a cassette tape. Worth it!

My last living musical hero is still my hero but unfortunately no longer living. RIP to the great, great Mr. Tom Lehrer.
