republicans’ closing message could not be clearer: they are the party of pedophile rapists

Trump: "Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Acton, is a liar, and much worse. The Press is trying to get him to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about daughter that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving"

i genuinely think that the way this admin is treating Canada will be looked back on as of the most shameful chapters of modern US history far too many people are laughing it off as unserious but the reality is that they’re spitting in the face of our closest ally for no reason

People On Here realized a long time ago that constantly banging on about how the Democrats COULD be doing SOMETHING incredibly emotionally satisfying that would DEFINITELY work and make them popular FOREVER but they WON’T is an Infinite Attention Glitch and we’re all stuck with the results

I mean, we saw how this site reacted to Biden's backhanded statement when Kissinger died, it's not like the people would give credit if Democrats did do that.

When you think of it, ironic detachment is counter-revolutionary and harmful bullshit which never should have been invented and any proper anarcho-Bidenist movement should seek to abolish it.

A lot of people could back away from the very dark places they’ve been plunging into if they just stepped back and said “look, I made the reasonable inference that rural/blue collar America wanted better living conditions but it turns out they want hate. It was an understandable mistake”

I think what happened here was they got accurate but disturbing results. They were hoping for “we want better jobs!” But they got [14 words]. And they just refused to acknowledge what this means. Curious for such fans of frank acknowledgement and meeting people where they are!

The last thing I really want to say on air conditioning is that insisting that you shouldn’t use it is a fundamentally conservative stance. It’s arguing that you don’t have to change because the world is changing. This is simply the hottest summer so far, and either you adapt or people die.

“There was zero plan, except causing pain,” said one U.N. official about the Trump administration’s decision to stop funding the group with no notice or communication. “And that is not forgivable.” Revisit this story from our series “The End of Aid,” a 2026 Pulitzer finalist.

No, the normies are protesting Trump 2.0 in far greater numbers than in his first term. It’s seemingly just the campus radicals who are arguing that they can’t do it anymore because protest is illegal now

Erik Hanberg@erikhanberg.bsky.social

Seems likely they thought they could influence things in 2024 under Biden but not under Trump. Combined with a general hopelessness. Same could be said for the adults too. Three No Kings protests isn’t many versus the spontaneous protests under Trump I.

one of the more remarkable trends evident in Trump's second term is that so many of the people who screamed bloody murder over the idea of courting moderate Republican votes in elections are actually 100% onboard with courting people on the right as long as they're cranks and anti-Semites

This the skeleton key that explains the entire left-of-center political and informational environment. There is no social reward for ever saying anything nice about a mainline Democrat, so no one does. As a result, baseless antipathy towards the party completely pervades the environment.

So, let's get this straight. Christopher "Moot" Poole created 4chan as a gathering place for hentai and CSAM enthusiasts, started /pol/ the day he met with Jeffrey Epstein, then /pol/ memed Trump to the presidency and birthed Qanon, a conspiracy theory in which Trump is a good person who hates CSAM.

I say this dead seriously: people like internet hippo here genuinely get scared when Trump and his people fuck up too bad, because they know people might realize "holy fuck this is awful, the Democrats were right!!", so they double down on Dem bashing to keep people from having those epiphanies.

I'm going to say it plainly: Vote scolding is good, vote shaming is good. You should be reminded that the choices you make have consequences especially if those consequences are dire. If you don't like people pointing out what your decisions lead to, try making good decisions.
