Trivia questions that show the cultural divide between black and white people: "Name the band that put out albums with just their band name followed by roman numerals in the 70s and early 80s" "Name the famous song from the 1980s that has a phone number in the chorus"

The GAP BAND The GOP is putting up slop of the dems singing a song from maybe one of the sex-drippingest, coolest, most amazing bands of all time. We gonna just put Obama in a red codpiece and a high-top and have him sing Candy next?

Anthony Michael Kreis@anthonymkreis.bsky.social

How racist and desperate do you have to be to look at this and say, “Got ‘em!”?

I do think we're at "we can know the results based on election day turnout" territory in a lot of places right now. The ev story seems consistent in a lot of places.

Garrett Petersen@gpetersen.bsky.social

So I don't want to oversell this but our 2024 EV percentage after day 2 was R+2.5. Right now it's D+17.7 So a 20 point swing in the largest suburban county in the country that had resisted some previous blue waves.

there’s no such thing as “strategic bigotry.” I know this because there is no amount of money you could pay me to become a bigot. the democrats who do this agree to do it because they’re bigots

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

Hey guys we invented an AI tool to tell a doctor how old you are based on a picture. This costs millions of dollars and at no point in any of the funding stages or hours of token spend did anyone ask "wait, don't doctors just... ask that?"

This was a Navy game so I guess I'm half-okay with weird military demonstrations at those, but I do think we need the military out of all other sporting events. What's so weird is this was an airman? Not a sailor? Why is USAF at this thing? All so stupid.

Timothy Burke@bubbaprog.xyz

the U.S. military should not be used as entertainment at college football games & I'm only surprised this didn't happen earlier. https://taskandpurpose.com/news/airman-dies-utsa-rappelling-incident/

This is some incredible Marie Antoinette shit. Inflation through the roof, anyone under 45 cannot retire, and our tax dollars are going to this dumb shit that no one wants or needs. Look how non-potholed that road is. Sure would be fuckin nice around here. Can we use money on that?

Other women’s photos on r/transtimelines got me actually excited to transition instead of apprehensive. I posted a lot more there early on for encouragement, but nowadays I’m beyond needing approval. I post there once a year or so to be the same kind of motivator for the next girl. And it works.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

MAGA brained people will always love this shit, but I think "oh yeah the economy will be fine if the president is constantly having to make little deals everywhere" is really wearing down the average consumer, especially when everything is just so goddamned fucking expensive right now

Okay so if 10/7 was like 16 9-11s, I guess the Israeli response in Gaza was like 32,000 9-11s? That's the math?

Thomas A. Fine@thomasafine.bsky.social

And yes, 10/7 is Israel's 9/11. Except that 10/7 was in many ways far far worse than 9/11. One way to understand this is to observe that 48,000 Americans being murdered is the proportional equivalent to 1100 Israelis being murdered.

Reading right wing media about Cornell over the past few days has educated me as to where conservative thought is on the concept of rape these days: When you are raped, fill out the questionnaire. If you ever do anything that isn't sitting on a tuffet eating curds and whey, your rape doesn't count.

Holy fucking shit I sincerely hope Collins spends the rest of her life in prison of course but this is cruel and unusual punishment

How many of these guys who marvel over AI like "wow it's so good l" have just literally never experienced art? Like, this is technically really cool looking that an AI did this through prompting... But is the part of your brain that can tell something sucks not working?

Max Woolf@minimaxir.bsky.social

uhhhhhhh

I'm not worried about AI making better art than humans. The most technically impressive art it makes is still utter shit, and probably because it isn't human. But I am worried that that doesn't matter to a lot of people who can't tell that it's bad and think art is just "content"

I mean this very seriously: can we see these texts? I want to see just how obvious this is to someone who has very very basic sports knowledge.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

CHARLIE KIRK SHOW: Dang! So you had texts from Smith's team confirming he was going to a Hawks game, and he acted dumbfounded? ERIC SCHMITT: It was the only NBA game going on in Atlanta. He claimed later he was at another game. My job is to ask the questions (All of Schmitt's "facts" were wrong!)

the left has gotten sports, in its entirety, in the national divorce this is why bluesky is the official app of sports

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

holy shit -- turns out Jack Smith went to a Hawkeyes game in Maryland but Schmitt's team is so reckless they concocted a conspiracy theory that Smith was actually in Atlanta seeing a Hawks game and colluding with Fani Willis. Klobuchar points out to Schmitt, "you have your teams wrong."

Senator Schmitt: It says right here you want the US to lose the War on Terror! You texted your friend "I can't wait to see the Patriots get their ass beat" Normal Person: You mean the day I was the Jets game? And they were playing... the Patriots?

Senate Judiciary Democrats 🇺🇸@judiciarydems.senate.gov

Sen. SCHMITT: We have texts saying you attended an Atlanta Hawks game in February 2024. Former Special Counsel Jack Smith: I believe it was a Maryland-Iowa game. Sen. KLOBUCHAR: The Iowa HAWKeyes. Perhaps the Senator from Missouri should have looked at these texts more carefully.

Eric Schmitt: We have evidence you wanted the Soviets to win the Cold War!!!! Don't deny it!!!! It says right here "I really hope the Reds win" Normal person: I'm from Cincinnati? Also, it's 2026?

Senate Judiciary Democrats 🇺🇸@judiciarydems.senate.gov

Sen. SCHMITT: We have texts saying you attended an Atlanta Hawks game in February 2024. Former Special Counsel Jack Smith: I believe it was a Maryland-Iowa game. Sen. KLOBUCHAR: The Iowa HAWKeyes. Perhaps the Senator from Missouri should have looked at these texts more carefully.

Schmitt gets obliterated here. He's a senator from Missouri, too, extra embarrassing.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Klobuchar has Schmitt dead to rights: "The game in fact was in Maryland. For a senator to have false information & imply, based on confusion about name of a team, that you were in another city & somehow involved that day in what was happening in Georgia & call you a 'dirtbag' deserves an apology"

Only 4% undecided in this poll. That's something important I'm seeing. Polls with undecideds in double-digits I think are generally worthless, but I think these low undecideds are getting us to a more accurate guess. And I don't think that meagre 4% is jumping into the bad economy party.

Taniel@taniel.bsky.social

Today, Marist's midnight poll drop is from Ohio: Sherrod Brown leads Sen. Husted 51% to 43%. Amy Acton leads Vivek Ramaswamy 50% to 44%. A key stat: 50% *strongly disapprove* of Trump, in Ohio. maristpoll.marist.edu/polls/midter...

I've been looking into this because I remember seeing Choosin' Texas at the top of the Spotify top 50 almost 2 months ago and thinking it was strange because it's kind of a nothing song, not a real title track. And today it's only one spot behind Taylor Swift's new music? Yeah, calling BS
