Newsflash, Andy Burnham is not the PM and may never be the PM. He's now an MP who managed the magnificent feat of holding a Labour held seat, a seat held by Labour since 1983, in an unnecessary by-election engineered by him and Josh Simons. A shameful, shabby episode worthy of the Tory party.

The Ukrainian president thanked the prime minister for the “cooperation, support, and the joint decisions that have helped make our Europe and our protection of life stronger”. But hey - no contest - the King of the North sorted some bus routes in Manchester...

Can I just say that Burnham doesn't have the look or presence of a national leader - and Streeting would have severe problems as a supply teacher in a primary school. Appearance matters (remember Robin Cook?).

When Starmer ceases to be Prime Minister he should spend time in the car park at Sky News shouting "Still writing shite and not apologising?" at Sam Coates and "Enjoy any illegal birthday parties recently?" at Beth Rigby.

When Caroline Lucas led The Greens, she was a clear voice of reason and decency. In contrast, Polanski is a shameless chancer whose utterances are sub Sixth Form. The country needs a Caroline Lucas at the moment, it can easily do without a Zack Polanski.

Farage has been paid £5m by an Asia based crypto-billionaire to persist with his inflammatory, divisive and downright nasty rhetoric. A nasty crime was committed by a manipulative couple of knife wielding thugs, and now Farage wants to jump on it for political gain by provoking a violent response.

Malcolm Armsteen reposted

Farage is obviously trying to stoke up race riots and exploiting a man’s murder to achieve that. Henry Nowak’s dad said outside court that he does not “want the murder used to create further hatred, division or tension. This is not about racism this is a case about murder." Farage doesn’t care.

True Other than Brexit, all current uk problems stem from thatcher!! Privatisation has failed Economy broken Inequity leading to breakdown in society and division Lack of housing Lack of wealth fund because oil was sold off for pittens A truly terrible prime minister Reform would repeat it

Burnham flounced out in 2015 when he lost to Corbyn, he sat it out whilst Labour lost big time twice, and now Starmer has taken them from defeat to number 10 he thinks he's the f*cking Messiah!! I don't think so, he certainly won't get my vote, such disrespect to his electorate and Starmer.

Malcolm Armsteen reposted

Josh Simons giving up his seat for Andy Burnham just typifies how little respect a lot of politicians have for the electorate. I don’t think voters like these games and Burnham could end up shit out of luck while Simons doesn’t get that lovely peerage he’s obviously been promised.

If Starmer goes I go. I honestly think this is the last Labour government we’ll ever see. I will not support these treacherous arseholes. The day Starmer goes if they force him out is the day the economy crashes. Don’t go taking out any mortgages people. You won’t afford the repayments.

For the record I am a Labour member but have always had respect for old school greens. Never did i ever think the words Green Party candidate and arrested on suspicion of stirring racial hatred appear in the same sentence. The green Party under David (zack polanski) Paulden are a disgrace.

I interrupt your breakfast with news that Saiqa Ali, one of the two Green Party candidates in #Lambeth who was arrested on suspicion of stirring racial hatred and (apparently) suspended has been elected to the council.

Time for this yet again, this is what this Government has achieved in under 2 years, it's an unprecedented achievement. You may not like Starmer, he may not have fulfilled your personal list of I wants but ffs do not pretend this Government has done nothing. Whataboutarists not welcome today, ta.

Please note that Farage was due to appear on Farage-friendly Kuensberg this morning. And he cried off. ANY form of scrutiny terrifies him.

"there is nothing Starmer can do to stop the crypto cash" I'd say there's always the option of criminalising the holding of what is literally the crime currency, and which exists for little other practical reason than that

The media constantly tell us Starmer is failing but never really elaborate on what he's failing to do. It can't be failing to deliver the manifesto because that's being done at warp speed. It's based on opinion polls , noises off and unnamed source, fact free speculative articles by the media.

You have to feel sorry for James Dyson. Imagine buying up 33,000 acres of farmland to avoid tax, only for Labour to then close the loophole. We need more patriots like him, who drive up farmland prices and vote for Brexit then fuck off to Singapore.

He’s “just a good businessman”. Not contributing to the national pot and then moaning his moneyed arse off about public services. Reform’s real motive for power: a race to the bottom for wild profiteering for people like Tice. There’s less than nothing in it for anyone else. Just cost. And regret.

Labour MPs just voted to expand free school meals to half a million more children, lifting 100,000 children out of poverty. The Tories and Reform UK voted against. Only Labour will give children growing up in our country the best start in life.

Have we woken up in America? The deeply unpatriotic Daily Mail and Sun seem to now be supporting a menace of a foreign leader over our own govt and national security. They are really only loyal to their own vested interests. Which are a direct threat to our own. The routine betrayal is sickening.

The Farage playbook is so Trumpian. When they win or come a close second (not tonight boyo) it's always 'a political earthquake' and when they lose, it's straight to, 'the game was rigged'. Pathetic populists.

If you sign a contract (Guardian take note), you enter a LEGALLY BINDING agreement with heavy sanctions should you break that contract, renege on it's details or otherwise fail to comply. Labour DID NOT sign Palantir contracts. TORIES DID. Get up off your knees, stop kissing ass and DO YOUR JOB.

I fully agree with local people who’ve emailed to say that Labour MPs should keep away from the chaos seen under the Tories and stand by Keir Starmer. After making key changes yesterday, now is the time to crack on. With so much global uncertainty, Keir’s leadership is crucial.
