I enjoy fran lebowitz & her wonderful ability to pair something that sounds good with a really enjoyable disregard for its truth, but a provocative remark is not an argument. I make them all the time, I should know. she certainly does. yes, nobody knows how to read anymore, but oprah didn’t do it

this is an instructive situation - if you hadn’t clocked taylor lorenz as a grifter and a hack long ago, you need to hone your moron radar
Taylor Lorenz pulling a "Why I'm Leaving the Left" is perhaps the most predictable thing ever to have occurred, narrowly edging out "housecat slowly pushes cup off edge of table"

The full statement is kind of a masterpiece. Take the most braindead both-sides take you’ve read in the Atlantic and remove 30 IQ points

anyway i'm sorry if pro-AI people find it inhospitable to talk about AI in this zoo but i feel fairly comfortable that most of you know exactly what you're doing when you stir shit and those of you that don't probably skipped the classes that would have helped because they are fake sciences.

This is not overly PC or overly generous reporting from 1990, this largely neutral snippet is just how normal tabloids and their audiences were about transgender issues 36 years ago. It shows how artificial and forced the media furore of now is.
Didn't know this until today but Dolly Parton had a transsexual man named Jason Pirro work as her Hollywood chauffeur in the 1980s, per an interview he gave to The Sun in 1990. "Dolly has been good to me...Dolly knows all about me."

In April, Pete Hegseth announced that US troops were no longer required to get the flu vaccine. Only 40% of the next group in basic training opted for the vaccine. By the end of June, one Air Force base had 284 sick, six hospitalized, and one dead from the flu. 🧪 skepchick.org/2026/07/pete...
