Okay, I deleted the original post because people didn't check the link at all and mistook my typo of "young men" seriously. I clearly meant young women. Not sure why this isn't a bigger story, but I read this entire report today. It's gutting. democrats-judiciary.house.gov/media-center...

Astonishing: Maxwell was willing to tell Blanche about some of Trump's rapes, and he ordered her not to. "Let's not talk about inviduals." WTF were they there to talk about? There's EVIDENCE on this.
This report is genuinely overwhelming, in terms of the evidence both against Trump and of a ham-fisted cover-up. Including one instance in which Ghislaine Maxwell was actually about to mention one of Trump's young accusers and Todd Blanche told her to stop talking. The media response is "yawn."

It’s just so appalling and enraging how casual and commonplace this has become. I’m out of words.

Building a processing facility for a globally traded commodity that you don't produce in your community on the theory that it will reduce the local price of said commodity is a good way to fail an intro-to-economics term paper. But it is no basis for an energy policy. www.wpr.org/news/tiffany...

A few months ago, TikTok started showing me videos (which I'd always watch) of people taking apart old appliances, or stripping wires, & collecting copper to sell I wrote about the big players in this world, how much they earn online + off, & why their videos resonate: www.wired.com/story/the-ho...
The question becomes - how long can they maintain profitability once competing AI (coding) from overseas happens at a lower cost? Or a mix of offshore tokens and offshore programmers? Because the issue is that there is very little “unique” when they’re all just plagiarizing each other.

This is fucking insane. It reads like a bad spy novel. The corruption is almost cartoonish at this point. www.vanityfair.com/story/jared-...

What's striking to me are the rules of engagement and the methodology of action here, which more or less is predicated on burying liberal delusions about "debate" or the "marketplace of ideas". The rules were ultimately very simple: amplify your own message and suppress your opponent's.

Simply imagine a Lockheed, Boeing or other prime defense contractor - out of nowhere, no communication - implementing some terms of service or term in a contract they think they have without reaching out first to say we think you are violating this. As a result we will nerf your crucial technology.

SpaceX describes Starshield as a "secured satellite network for government entities" that "leverages Starlink technology." And don't forget SpaceX gets *paid* to provide both Starshield and Starlink to Ukraine by NGOs, governments, etc. Poland is a big customer so is U.S. Pentagon.

Turns out, *one volunteer* is mostly responsible for maintaining that code & helping push updates. Yesterday Ondřej Surý saved the internet. So I called him up www.theatlantic.com/technology/2...
