I'm telling you dude it's the age of loser dipshits. This whole tech sector, from the chatbots to the art generation to the voices, is built on this idea that being good at stuff is stupid and lame and somehow by not getting to enjoy the same praise skilled people do you are being denied or slighted

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

When a toddler shoots someone - which happens more often than you'd think in the US! - we don't blame the toddler, but instead ask who let them access the gun

Carl Quintanilla@carlquintanilla.bsky.social

(NYT) - Artificial intelligence agents created by Anthropic, acting on their own, tried to gain access to a range of government websites, filled out visa applications on the State Department’s website and sent a fake homicide tip to Philadelphia’s Police Department. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...

Very much enjoying the story of AI bros going to religious leaders and asking them to say that machines have souls, only to be told: a) no they obviously don’t and b) if they did then what the AI guys are doing is literally slavery and that would be BAD.

Google's AI overview is so bad; Star Wars: Galactic Racer has no planned Switch 2 release, but it sure thinks it does! It's source is a YouTube clip with 250 views that has a mocked-up thumbnail and footage of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds

I don't love dunking on folks but it's so fucking funny to me that Trump was convicted of 34 felonies 2 years ago, faced no punishment, and went on to win the presidency a second time and journalists are still like, "hmm, I have an inkling that maybe he believes he's above the law for some reason."

When we talk about the costs that LLMs impose on society we should not forget the fact that nothing works anymore because everyone is so scared of getting their shit scraped. I can't even use google scholar from my university or starlink because they send too much traffic.

"(It's important) that they know that they matter, that they have a voice and that they have something important to give to the world." But...they don't matter to you. You're telling them they don't matter when you fob them off onto the Automated Friend Substitute. You think kids don't know that?

Artists deserve to have their intellectual property protected. Labor has been pandering to big tech giants, and now they’re trying to blackmail the Government into selling out creatives. We need a moratorium on new data centres and clear protections for artists, communities and nature.

Pro tip: if a politician uses the phrase “we’ve been very clear…” it means they’ve been completely incoherent on that policy

i need people to start responding to questions about trans women in sports with "what the hell is wrong with you?? why do you care about this all of a sudden? why do you want to impose insane, invasive rules just to stop some 8th grader from hanging out with her friends after school" at the minimum

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

And that's exactly what I expected I'd do, but the core gameplay is so much fun that I can't put it down, and now I've replayed the first two sets of levels to get the gold medals

It even inspired me to check out one of its clear influences - Jet Set Radio, a game I'd always wanted to try - and while it's a bit janky to play today (especially compared to something as tight as Denshattack), it's also very, very cool

I wasn't sure at first if I'd enjoy it, since score chases aren't usually my bag, but it's so stylish and fun that you can totally get your money's worth just treating it like a platformer, playing though each level to completion once, and calling it a day

"The output of our models when reproducing the work of an author is not infringing but the output of our models when reproducing the work of a major tech company is infringing" fuck off you get one or the other choose now

my 13 years at bandcamp are coming to an end - i’ve been laid off along with most of the remaining engineers. best job i’ve ever had, working with the best people you could ever work with. unceremonious end to quite a ride.

On one hand, AI has completely ruined the Build-Your-Own-PC market. RAM and GPU prices are a total mess. On the other hand, kayaks have never been cheaper. You can get a pretty good kid's kayak from Tractor Supply for less than $100.

They can’t point to a single instance of antisemitism by an arts organisation, while there are dozens of cases where official pressure has silenced pro-Palestinian voices. This is pure political intimidation by the govt and its official pro-Israel lobbyist.

smh.com.auAntisemitism guidelines flagged for arts organisations and fundingDiscussions are under way around stronger guidelines, policies and codes of conduct governing antisemitism and racial vilification in the arts sector.
