Doesn’t matter, it’s scary. AI was blatantly obvious and terrible at making real looking video and photo barely four or five years ago. Didn’t even exist ten years ago. Look where we’re at now. Give it ten years and let’s see where things are at with robotics. Future looks very dystopian.

The police already have multiple tools that can outrun me and kill me with less risk of a glitch or being defeated by a puddle. It's fine.

Many will laugh at this, as it is pretty funny. But that obscures the fact that this bloody robot is able to do something I thought would be years away, and may be only months away from being perfected. Scary...

I don't care if robots can "run like humans" or "run faster than humans." We don't have any need for devices that run. Call me when they have one that can wash dishes and fold laundry. Let me know when the cost is less than $20/hour. Until then, they're just expensive oversized dolls.

Note the distinct lack of a crowd or anything beyond "performative" interest. This genuinely feels to be a psy-op campaign on par with their Ghost Cities to convince the rest of the world to reshuffle resources into these projects when it's nothing but window dressing.

Spot on! "But it has two legs and resembles a human being!" is what this shit is all about. Doesn't matter if it's moving slower than machines we already have. Doesn't matter if it's far less stable. Doesn't matter if it's super uncanny. Doesn't matter it's imploding at the tiniest obstacle.

It’s an amazing engineering feat. Trump has banned best-in-class Chinese robotics. We’ll see how that goes since robotics is the future of applied AI.
