Dude doesn’t know how NATO works. There are no dues. Each country is supposed to spend at least 2% of its GDP on defense; & weapons systems should be compatible with NATO systems.

The framing of NATO needs the US more than the US needs NATO needs to be challenged as well. Membership of NATO and the ability to have US bases in Europe gives the US a jump off point for operations globally and influence over a whole continent. It’s a bargain.

This of course is not true. Without NATO we have no agreements in Europe that have allowed us to establish American spy networks in Europe. This is of course on top of the partnership we will not have when trump starts another war and America is attacked because of it.

The loss of logistical capabilities would be astounding. Losing access to all of those ports, airports, air space, rail lines, logistics hubs, etc would be crippling and we couldn't just "take them over" The US military might is solidified in logistics and it's only with NATO that that works.

Do they not know most of that money is just funding the USAs own military, It is not used for other countries? The US funds only 16 % of NATOs actual operating cost. This is why education and push back is important. The NATO rule is 2%, the US government decided to make their budget astronomical.

I'm sure 🇨🇦 would love to make Greenland our 4th territory! We're only 26kms (16miles) away from the nearest point! It certainly would make sense geographically. But there's one thing stopping us. We've evolved since the 15th century. The only thing Greenland "should" be, is left the hell alone!

The NATO budget is around $4 billion (2024). That’s what you can save. A drop in the ocean compared to your current $1TN military spending. I doubt your defense budget will decrease if you stand alone. Its true that NATO needs US. But US also needs NATO. It’s a win-win. And don’t take Greenland.

Their autarky dreams don't take into account being kicked out of their global bases of operation and distrusted by US partners. EU should start flirting with S. Korea, Japan, Australia and Canada about a new alliance, even include some African and S. American countries with good democratic record.
