STEPHANOPOULOS: How do you respond to people who say it's a conflict of interest for the president to be seeking funds from those who he's administering? BLANCHE: We're looking at how to handle that. He's not wrong that what happened there was horrible, the fact his tax returns were leaked.

1. He promised to release them; 2. He said he couldn't release them due to IRS audit (which was a lie). 3. The records could be leaked by anyone who had them, which includes plenty of non-IRS people. 4. How much "damages" should he receive for something he said he was going to release anyway?

Stephanopoulos again giving voice to a MAGA propagandist that he does not deserve. ABC and other media outlets continue to give a voice to these misfits for trump which does help keep the MAGA dummies out there confused about truth. Trump should have released those returns himself. He is a crook.

The President is very clearly compromised by several foreign powers confirmed by several sources and this alone would destroy any other President in history. But because Trump has full control of the government and media, literally nothing is done. All of these people need to be put to trial.

Reminder that his taxes were leaked because he was lying about being rich and was, in fact, billions in debt before turning the presidency into a bribery machine

Exactly! The grifter in chief has broken so many laws and norms that many of us need reminders. I’ve read estimates that he’s enriched himself and family by $4 Billion just this term.

Yeah - it’s horrible how we discovered he’s an unqualified fraud who couldn’t balance a checkbook, much less run the nation. Despite that, he was re-elected anyway. Where’s the damage here…?

One could logically think it is horrible for a modern day candidate and president to refuse to release his returns. It’s almost as if he has something to hide from hard working, tax paying Americans.

Psssst, toddy, previous presidents use to 'leak' their own tax returns, and not sell crypto coins to the tune of billions. Also, eadc.

He’s a defense attorney. His client was (and still is) Trump. He will rationalize any situation he has to to protect his client. Understand that. He has no loyalty to the American people.

The audit, dammit! He couldn’t because of the audit! He so wanted to. He went to the irs, with tears in his eyes, and said “can I please release my tax forms? The public deserves to see them!” and the deep state irs controlled by Obama said “NO!”, all to make it look like he was hiding them.

"As his personal attorney, together we're looking at how he can get away with stealing $10 billion from the US Treasury." bsky.app/profile/atru...

Trump allowed Musk to collect our tax and social security data. Shouldn’t each American be allowed to sue the government for $10B? I think so and look forward to this precedence.

When asked about a conflict of interest, they pivot to whining about leaked taxes. That’s the tell. If your defense of taking money from people you govern is looking over there, you’ve already admitted the corruption.

Since DOGE purposely “leaked” the personal information of every US citizen on SSA, Medicare, + Medicaid servers (+others) to unsecured non governmental servers and entities, we each and every one should be free to sue Trump, Musk, and every Republican who supported DOGE????

"We're looking at how to handle that" is clear code for "yeah we're at a total loss on this level of grift". If it was remotely defensible, it would be presented as something totally typical.

He promised he would release them during his campaign they were released like he promised they would so what’s his problem?

1) He PROMISED to release his tax returns in 2016, 2020 and 2024. 2) DOGE stole our SocSec and tax records and god knows where they are. If *I* know these things, why don't reporters know these things and clapback with that as a response?

Thank you! I said the same thing to my partner when this news first broke. Our data is handled carelessly and we get a letter saying “oops!, here’s free monitoring that YOU have to set up”. He gets a billion?

He’s absolutely wrong. That should. public information, and he at various points indicated he was willing g tk release it if he could. Find and prosecute the leaker, if you have a case. Don’t take $10 billion from the American taxpayer and put it in Trump‘s pockets.

Since Richard Nixon, every president, (Ford released a tax summary) has released their tax returns to prove to the American people that they are not a corrupt fraud, at least on paper. The fact that you didn't mean you have something to hide. But stealing $10bil from the American people?

Q: How do you answer a question that points to your unethical behavior? A: Simply explain how beating the strawman you're constructing is necessary.

First of all, every president in modern times has released his tax return records and put personal assets into a blind trust. The whole “interview” was full of lies after lies. What an abomination!

I blame the voters. He didn't force anyone to be ok with such little transparency as a candidate. Enough people just didn't care when they should have. I would not have voted for any candidate who didn't release their taxes.

So what’s he hiding?? All other Presidents simply released their taxes. He of made up lies from the beginning. He’s suing the people of the country he took an oath to protect. He’s only trying to grift more money. I think I’ll sue too for my info that doge stole.

I thought leaker went to prison? What real damages were done to Trump. He’s the president. Is he arguing that the release caused him to lose 2020 and therefore he lost the ability to be bribed $10 bln?

Leaks are the only way Americans can find the truth behind trumps massive criminal enterprise Trump is literally stealing BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars for his family

Someone should intervene and argue he doesn't have Article III standing given that he hasn't suffered any concrete harm . . . specifically, how was he damaged if he previously said he would release his returns?

So.. Why does the government get to come after my State requiring them to leak my personal voter information?? 🤷🏼‍♀️ #Where’smy$10billion .??

Todd Blanche is a very capable liar. Interviewing him as if he is an honest actor is ridiculous. Mainstream media is not built for journalism. It's built to normalize the lies of those in power.

Trump is just lining his pockets and feathering his nest 🪺 along his march. Plundering gold and 🇺🇸American treasure at every instance. A pirate 🏴‍☠️ at his core, “take everything and leave nothing“ is his code of conduct. Like General Sherman’s March to the sea he will burn 🔥 it all to the ground.

The appropriate way of handling this - IF you feel there is a case to answer - is for a payment of a symbolic $1. That is what proves that the President of the USA is wronged but not trying to line his pockets. Of course, he wasn't wronged & he is trying to line his pockets. But, hey!

Every president in the last few decades voluntarily released their tax returns before being elected, meanwhile trump is suing the IRS claiming they illegally released his tax returns to the public. Idiotic.

Blanche stated tRump’s family is transparent about the business they are conducting, unlike like Biden. Can someone name the organization Biden and he son were running while Biden was in office?

"We really want to find a way for the President to take large bribes from the people he regulates and to loot the national treasury in a way that you people will stop asking about."

Oh Todd, my dude. His tax returns should have never have had to have been leaked. He should have put them out there every year as they should be by law. But like everything else, he thinks he’s above the law. And the hiding of the Epstein files is the tip of the iceberg

let's back up...it was wrong that a candidate for President hid his tax returns. It's not illegal, but it is very wrong and should have been a huge red flag.

Many Americans find it disgusting that the President seeks funds from billionaires while he controls the files that may implicate these billionaires for their connections to horrible crimes that all of America knows about, which involved a bunch of the President's billionaire friends in Mar a Lago.

it's certainly not horrible. I can't think of a good reason why a candidate for federal elected office should not have their federal taxes made public.

It's a job application. The people should be entitled to a background check.
